The Impacts of Forest Management on the Creek Fire 08/17/2021

Hello SAF,
Please let me know if you want to volunteer for the Fall meeting. I will keep the list of volunteers from our three chapters. Please let me know by August 31, 2021 so if there are still positions needed I can send it back to Rachelle so she can send it out to Cal SAF to fill in the remainder. We are also looking for items for the Foresters fund silent auction and if you know of some company who might have some swag, (REI has donated swag in the past) I have a DeWalt drill from Ace hardware.

Here is the link to sign up for the event.

Arbor Day was celebrated by the John Wash Tigers with the planting of three Holly Oak trees on the school campus. John Wash was just one of the tree planting stops by Tree Fresno, in Sanger Unified, according to Lee Ayres of Tree Fresno. Other campuses where trees were planted include Fairmont, Jackson, Jefferson and Madison. "We're are thrilled to be partners with Sanger," said Ayres. Ayres provided information for the Tiger Leadership students about Holly Oak trees and tree planting. Ayres also instructed the students on how to stake the tree and what will be involved with "protecting and guiding the tree, for the first few years." Arbor Day is celebrated every 4th Friday, in April. PG&E sponsored the tree planting along with Valley Crest Tree Grower. Holly Oak trees are evergreen trees which grow to 40'-70 feet in height. Arbor Day is an annual observance that celebrates the role of trees in our lives and promotes tree planting and care. It was first observed, in 1872, in Nebraska. Here are a few scenes from the John Wash tree planting.
