Congratulations to physics student Nursultan "Sam" Khudayberdiev whose innovative research has been featured while attending the American Physical Society Global Physics Summit this week! 🍓 🤖
Innovating on the Central Valley's rich tapestry of agriculture, Sam is developing a robotic arm which uses AI image recognition to precisely identify and gently pick strawberries for the future application of affixing his system to a rover for harvesting in extreme temperatures, around pesticides or other unsafe or challenging environments for humans.
Watch Sam speak to WebsEdge in depth about his vision and work on YouTube!

CSM celebrates International Day of Women and Girls in Science 👩🔬🔬🧬🔭
“Being a woman in science means standing at the junction of resistance and curiosity. It represents recognizing the strides made by those who came before me while creating space for those who will come after. It means bringing my culture, my perspective, my empathy into rooms that once did not include voices like mine. Along with discovery, being a woman in science encompasses representation, responsibility, and the redefinition of what scholars in science can look like.”

Celebrating Veteran Bulldogs for Veterans Day 🇺🇸
“I was recently elected President and Captain of the Fresno State Hockey Club, and this role rekindled my ability to lead. When I was enlisted, I led an avionics shop of 60+ technicians and was a career counselor for over 180 sailors. Lately, I have been able to use those skillsets to help my teammates on and off the ice.
While enlisted, I specialized in maintenance and troubleshooting the computer systems on board the F/A-18 aircraft. Once separated, I decided to make my life come full circle by pursuing my B.S. in Computer Science, in hopes to one day write and develop the software I once maintained during my time in the Navy. Pursuing this degree gives me a sense of purpose, as well as giving back to those currently serving.”
