📢 Exciting News! Ruby Bridges Day Celebration at Tylor’s Tots Child Care and Preschool 📢

Today, we are proud to celebrate Ruby Bridges Day with our little ones at Tylor’s Tots Child Care and Preschool!

Who is Ruby Bridges?
• Ruby Bridges is known for being the first African American child to integrate an all-white elementary school in the South. In 1960, at just six years old, she attended William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans.
• Her courage and determination at such a young age made her an important figure in the civil rights movement and helped pave the way for further integration in schools across the United States.

Through a special partnership with AAA, we’re introducing our child care children to Ruby’s inspiring story of courage, kindness, and the power of standing up for what’s right. 💜💜

Our activities will include story time, art projects, and “Walking in Ruby’s Shoes” to help our children learn about the importance of friendship, inclusivity, and bravery. 👫🎨📚

We’re so grateful for this opportunity to further teach our child care children the value of diversity and empathy. As, they are our future.

Black History Month, observed in February, is a time dedicated to celebrating the achievements, contributions, and history of African Americans. It highlights their significant impact on culture, science, politics, and various fields throughout history.

Black History Month originated in the United States, starting as "Negro History Week" in 1926, established by historian Carter G. Woodson. It expanded to a month-long celebration in 1976. The month honors the accomplishments of African Americans and acknowledges the struggles they have faced in the fight for civil rights and equality. It provides an opportunity for education and reflection on the rich and diverse history of the Black community. Throughout February, various events, discussions, and activities take place to promote awareness and understanding of this history.
