We are so proud of Kimberly and excited to see what her future holds!
🎓Please join us in celebrating Kimberly Smith, a graduating senior and valedictorian from Sunnyside High School whose strength and determination have inspired everyone around her.
After the heartbreaking loss of her mother in April following a year-long illness, Kimberly chose to honor her mother's dream by staying committed to her education and future. Through grief and adversity, she continued to excel academically, lead her peers and serve her community with grace and perseverance. She will attend Benedict College on a full-ride scholarship and aspires to be an athletic trainer.
Kimberly’s impressive accomplishments include:
⭐ Black Student Union secretary
⭐ HBCU Step Up Program
⭐ Volleyball team captain
⭐ Boys volleyball team manager
⭐ Unified Sports, partnering with students with disabilities
⭐ SUFE Club and 2.0 Club
⭐ Tutor in English, art and history
Kimberly’s journey is a powerful reminder that even in life’s most difficult moments, perseverance and dedication can light the way forward. We know her mother would be incredibly proud of all she has achieved and the bright future ahead.
Congratulations, Kimberly! Fresno Unified is cheering you on every step of the way. 💙🎉
