Kinesiology—Clinical Exercise Physiology and/or Functional Anatomy Assistant Professor-Tenure Track

Fall 2027 (Fall 2027)

The Department of Kinesiology is seeking to fill multiple areas within the program of Exercise Science. The Assistant Professor will primarily teach undergraduate and graduate classes in the Department of Kinesiology to a diverse group of students who could potentially be Exercise Science, Physical Education, Sport Administration, and Sport and Performance Psychology majors. The faculty member will also engage in scholarly activity at the R2 level, seek external funding, serve on committees at all levels of faculty governance, provide academic advising to students, chair and serve on thesis committees, and maintain collaborative relationships within and outside the Department, including community outreach. Primary teaching responsibilities and specific assignments will depend upon Department needs and priorities.

Congratulations to Athletic Training program alumni, Matt Brandt (c/o 2011), the new Head Athletic Trainer for the Angel City Football Club (ACFC).

Matt joins ACFC after four years in the athletic training department at UCLA, where he worked with the men's soccer program and track and field. Prior to his time at UCLA, he spent six years at Cal State Northridge working primarily with the women's soccer and softball programs.

As Head Athletic Trainer at ACFC, Matt will oversee athletic training services for all players, including injury prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play support.

Congratulations to all of our 2026 award winners, scholarship recipients, and student researchers! Your dedication, passion, and commitment to advancing the profession of athletic training continue to raise the standard of excellence at California State University, Fresno.
