On this very warm Friday evening 30 members and friends gathered in the chapter hangar (with 2 huge coolers) to enjoy Kati's dinner of spaghetti with scrumptious meat sauce, plus creamy parmesan chicken tortellini, with fresh French bread. Judie made a gigantic green salad, and many of the guests brought delicious desserts to share.
We "Passed the Bag" tonight in an effort to help the high school kids toward their goal of purchasing the engine for their RV-12 Skies of Dreams EAA 376 Youth Build. Our VERY generous attendees filled the bag with donations totaling $246.55! THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH!
After a short delay getting the A-V equipment to work, we enjoyed the Koren War Naval pilot film, DEVOTION.
Our last movie of the summer is Friday June 19th.(No movies in July and August -- it's just too hot.) We will be having a
🇺🇸Patriotic Night🇺🇸in celebration of our Nation's 250th Birthday. Kati and Judie will be preparing an American classic dinner of Frito Boats with 2 kinds of homemade chili and all the trimmings!
WEAR RED, WHITE, & BLUE and brush up on your U.S. Constitution knowledge. There will be several trivia questions (no Googling allowed!), with the winner receiving a Starbucks gift card.
We will end our spring, Friday Night Airplane Movies with a laugh or two, and maybe a few groans,🤣as we watch AIRPLANE!

Devotion tells the story of the U.S. Navy’s most famous aviator duo, Lt. Tom Hudner and Ensign Jesse Brown. Hudner, a white New Englander from the country-club scene, passed up Harvard to fly fighters for his country, and Brown, an African American sharecropper’s son from Mississippi who becomes Hudner’s best friend and the Navy’s first black carrier pilot defending a nation that wouldn’t even serve him in a bar. They join Navy Fighter Squadron VF-32 in 1950, and Brown is assigned as Hudner’s wingman. Later that year war breaks out in Korea and VF-32 provides air support onboard the carrier USS Leyte. When one of the men is shot down behind enemy lines, the other embarks on one of history’s most audacious one-man rescue missions. Together they made history in America’s forgotten war in this memorable story of bravery and selflessness.
