🚨 FACULTY HEALTHCARE IS ABOUT TO SKYROCKET. 🚨

Many faculty members have asked what the projected health insurance increases could mean for them. The answer is straightforward: health insurance costs are expected to rise much faster than the District's contribution.

For the 2026–27 plan year, health insurance premiums are projected to surge by 35%. Meanwhile, the District's proposed contribution increase doesn't even come close to keeping pace, leaving employees to absorb the massive difference.

Look at how hard this hits your wallet:

ASCIP 90/70 PPO Plan: Monthly costs could jump from approx. $480.56 to $948.30/month—an increase of $467.74/month or $5,612.84 more per year. That is a 97% increase in employee costs.

ASCIP HDHP Plan A: Monthly costs could increase from approx. $7.37 to $309.49/month—an increase of $302.12/month or $3,625.40 more per year. Because we started so low, this represents a jaw-dropping 4,099% increase.

The Real Threat: This massive cost-shift will completely consume any potential salary increases we fight for.

The District cannot plead poverty. They are currently hoarding a staggering $126 MILLION in cash reserves—over 35% of the total budget. They have the resources to fully cover our healthcare. They are simply choosing their bank account over our livelihoods.

We have officially entered Impasse and state-guided mediation. The mediator needs to see that we are organized, vocal, and refusing to accept less than competitive compensation.

Strengthening democracy through a new People's Organization 04/23/2026

Since 2021, SCFT has been working with community members around the Central valley to build a new non-partisan organization where local residents can come together and use their collective power and organized money to take action together.

Important issues our Valley residents are sharing pressures around include: Transportation, Immigration, Education, and Healthcare.

All community residents are welcome to join this FREE event. Bring your pressures to the table at the May 3 Founding event.

Watch the short video below to meet some of the community members at the center of this new movement.

We’ve been here before and We didn’t back down then. Our faculty are standing up—for fair pay, for students, and for the future of our community colleges.

Despite record reserves, they’re being asked to settle for less than competitive wages.

Is State Center willing to compete? 04/15/2026

SCCCD has a $126,000,000 secret.💰

While State Center Community College District sits on massive reserves, our faculty are being forced to make impossible choices. Our wages are $16,000 behind our neighbors, and for our students, that gap isn't just about money—it’s about time.

When faculty are stretched thin, working multiple jobs just to stay in the Valley, our students lose out on: ✨ Mentorship and guidance ✨ Individualized feedback in the lab ✨ The professors they know and love

Faculty working conditions are student learning conditions. 🍎
We aren't just fighting for a fair contract; we are fighting for the resources our students were promised.

SCCCD wants their Faculty to believe their compensation offer is fair... It is not.

This video breaks it down and once you see it, you can’t unsee the lack of a competitive offer.

What’s really happening here?

* Money is being left on the table
* Faculty work is being undervalued

Join us at the meeting tomorrow to demand a competitive wage:

SCCCD Faculty are being underpaid. Period. This image breaks down the truth about compensation— and the gap between what they’re paid and what they've earned. The District wants you to believe their offer is “reasonable.” It’s not. It leaves thousands of dollars on the table—every single year. So the question is: WHO HOLDS THE POWER OVER YOUR NEXT CONTRACT… YOU OR THE DISTRICT? Faculty turnout will determine the answer. 📍 April 17 ⏰ 4:30 Dinner | 5:30 Watch our compensation video. Then show up. Because if we don’t—nothing changes.
