Roxey Ballet Announces Auditions for the 31st Annual American Holiday Classic: The Nutcracker
New Choreography, Stunning Costumes, Spectacular Sets, and Magical Holiday Memories Await
NEW HOPE, PA / LAMBERTVILLE, NJ — Roxey Ballet is thrilled to announce auditions for its beloved 31st Annual American Holiday Classic, The Nutcracker, one of the region’s most cherished holiday traditions. Auditions are open to dancers ages 4 and up and will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Mill Ballet School in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Opening Thanksgiving Weekend and running throughout the holiday season, Roxey Ballet’s Nutcracker has become a treasured annual tradition for families throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and beyond. Now entering its 31st year, this year’s production promises to be the most exciting yet, featuring brand-new choreography, dazzling costumes, enhanced scenic design, innovative theatrical effects, and an expanded cast of professional and community performers.
Under the direction of Roxey Ballet founders Mark Roxey and Melissa Roxey, dancers will have the opportunity to perform alongside professional artists in a fully staged production that has delighted tens of thousands of audience members over the past three decades.
“This year’s Nutcracker is a celebration of imagination, artistry, and community,” said Mark Roxey, Founder and Artistic Director of Roxey Ballet. “We are reimagining many aspects of the production while preserving the warmth and magic that families have come to love. Audiences can expect breathtaking new choreography, stunning visual elements, and unforgettable performances from dancers of all ages.”
The production follows Clara on her enchanting holiday journey through a world filled with magical mice, brave toy soldiers, swirling snowflakes, sparkling flowers, and the beloved Sugar Plum Fairy. Combined with Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, Roxey Ballet’s unique American interpretation of the holiday classic creates an unforgettable theatrical experience for audiences of all ages.
