Anna Tellis, TVI: “Feeling very grateful for:

And the BEST students!!

This is a 2nd grade student using the app to digitally complete a worksheet originally intended to “cut and paste”

By integrating technology, this activity is fully accessible to her visual needs, while practicing relevant and practical skills that can be used and carried over in so many other ways!

Blindness or visual impairment doesn’t stop my students, all they need is equal access and or to be taught the tools and techniques in order to gain access and look at them go!! HappyHappyHappy”

👻 Happy Halloween from Out of Sight Teaching LLC! 🎃

This spooky season, we celebrate the skills that make trick-or-treating a success for students with low vision and blindness!

TVI and O&M services help students:
    •    Walk Confidently: Mastering routes and using their cane or guide safely.
    •    Engage Their Senses: Feeling for textures on costumes and listening for auditory cues.
    •    Socialize: Delivering that cheerful “Trick-or-Treat!” with confidence.

✨ Pro-Tip for Inclusion: When handing out candy, always give a verbal choice! (“Would you like a Snickers or a Skittles?”)

What are your favorite ways to make Halloween accessible and fun for everyone? Share your tips below!

What a fantastic White Cane Day celebration! 🦯🥳

Thank you to everyone—students, teachers, families, and even our local police—who participated in spreading awareness and celebrating the long white cane as a tool of independence for people who are blind or visually impaired. ♥️

It was great to see so many people rocking our “It’s a cane, not a stick!” shirts! Let’s keep the conversation going all year long! 🗣️

🌟 Shoutout to Our Amazing TVI, Anna Tellis! 🌟

Our very own jack of all trades, Anna Tellis, went above and beyond once again! She designed these incredible shirts and launched a fundraiser that helped raise money for assistive technology—all while establishing her own company, AT Adaptations LLC! 💪👏

We are beyond lucky to have an Anna on our team. Her creativity, dedication, and passion for accessibility shine through in everything she does. The hard work and love she pours into Out of Sight Teaching and her students inspire us daily.

Anna, thank you for all that you do—you make a difference every single day! 💙
