🚨 Disaster Day at UCN Reno! Our students put their skills to the test through realistic mock disaster drills, practicing teamwork, critical thinking, and patient care in high-pressure situations. Hands-on experiences like these help prepare future nurses for whatever comes their way.

A milestone worth celebrating — and a great example of what’s possible when healthcare and education come together.

This week, we celebrated the first graduating cohort from Community Health System’s Nursing Education Pathway, Powered by Unitek College of Nursing. Twenty-two new nurses are preparing to take the next step in their careers, including 16 who are first-generation college graduates.

FOX26 was there to capture the milestone and highlight how this partnership is helping address the nursing shortage in California’s Central Valley.

Through the Workforce Solutions program, Community Health System employees have the opportunity to advance their education while continuing to work and serve their community. It’s a model designed to create meaningful career pathways for employees while helping healthcare organizations build the nursing workforce they need for the future.

Congratulations to the graduates, and thank you to our Workforce Solutions partner Community Health System, along with the faculty, and leaders who helped make this milestone possible.
