This past weekend, Jayendra Kalakendra had the wonderful opportunity to showcase our arangetram students and seniors at the annual Sacramento Natyanjali Dance Festival, presenting some of our favorite choreographies.

Thank you to the Natyanjali organizers for continuing this festival as an annual tradition and letting us be a part of it.

Excited to share Jayendra Kalakendra’s March performances! This month, we re gracious to be given the opportunity to once again attend Sacramento Natyanjali where our pre Arangetram and Senior students will be showcasing multiple songs. Additionally we look forward to the unique experience of a lecture demo by our very own guru, Smt. Suganda Sreenath. All are welcome!

Advanced students from our Fremont and Pleasanton batches performed at Shri Krishna Vrundavana Temple for their Purandhara Vaibhavam festival this past Saturday, February 21st. The girls danced an excerpt from our KrishnAmrutham production, depicting the Kalinga Nartana.

Thank you to the SKV team for organizing and showcasing many wonderful Sant Purandhara Dasa compositions.

Maha Shivaratri is the sacred night of divine awakening. It is believed to be the night when Lord Shiva performs the cosmic dance, symbolizing creation, preservation, and destruction.

For this auspicious occasion, Jayendra Kalakendra shares captures that feature our dancers portraying shiva in various forms, showing the stories of his greatest devotees and nritta, an ode to Lord Nataraja, the source of dance.

Our Upcoming 2026 Arangetram students performed today at Arudhra Natyanjali at the Livermore Temple. Thank you Jaya Vishu ma’am for giving our students the opportunity to present their Natyam.

Hasini Bharathwaj completed her Arangetram on July 5th, 2025 at Woodside High Performing Arts Center with Oviya Suresh by her side. Here is what she had to say about her experience!

My arangetram was truly an unforgettable milestone. Preparing for this was a long yet rewarding experience, filled with long classes, moments of doubt, and endless rehearsals in my garage. Looking back at this last year, I am so grateful for everything I have learned along the way, not just about dance, but about how to persevere and believe in my abilities. I would like to specially thank my gurus, Smt. Suganda Sreenath and Smt. Shreya Iyer Parker for all the guidance and wisdom they have provided me throughout this journey, helping me bring out my best version on stage. This would also not have been possible without the support and encouragement from my family, who stood by me throughout. Sharing this journey with Oviya was so meaningful, and I will always cherish the memories we made along the way.

Sharing some upcoming performances happening this weekend. We are so busy with preparations for Shivarathri, Vasanta Navarathri, and so many other celebrations in between.

Happening tomorrow:
Jayendra Kalakendra guru Smt. Shreya Iyer and senior disciples will be performing at FOG India Republic Day celebrations! Our performance will be slated around 4:45pm, but there will be a full day of shows.

Our upcoming Arangetram students will be performing on Sunday January 25 at the Livermore Temple for Arudhra Natyanjali at 11AM.

Students from Jayendra Kalakendra will be performing today at KPAS Sri Mahalakshmi Temple for their Pongal Celebration Naatya Utsavam. Our dancers will be performing at 5:30PM. Please do come and support them!
