🎉 BIG NEWS!!! 🎉

Music Together is coming back to Hayward for the Fall 2026 semester! We have found a new home right in the heart of Downtown Hayward—the home of United Capoeira Association (UCA)!

Do you know what Capoeira is?

Capoeira is a unique art form from Brazil that combines music, movement, rhythm, and play. People sing songs, clap their hands, play instruments, and move together in a fun and supportive community.

Sound familiar? 😊

At Music Together, we also learn through singing, dancing, moving, and making music together. Just like in Capoeira, children develop important skills through joyful, active participation. Both programs celebrate learning through music and movement, making UCA a perfect home for our Hayward classes.

Capoeira also features a very special instrument called the Berimbau (beh-rim-BOW). The Berimbau is a one-string instrument that guides the rhythm and movement of the game. It's fascinating to see and hear! ( I attached a photo of the Berimbau in the comment area. Check it out!)

We feel incredibly fortunate to partner with United Capoeira Association–Hayward for our new Hayward location. I truly believe this collaboration between Music Together and UCA will bring exciting opportunities, meaningful connections, and enriching experiences to families throughout Hayward and the surrounding communities.

Great speech!
Empathy, courage, tenacity, irreverence, reverence mathematics and physics, and language, and at the heart of it all, this process of listening. If this reflects anything, it's just that you're only as good a musician as you are a human being.
The world doesn't need more good musicians; the world needs more good people.

Of course, having more good musicians is a wonderful thing. But the reason we bring our children to early childhood music classes is not to create future musicians.

We are helping to shape future human beings—children with empathy, courage, tenacity, curiosity, respect, and all the qualities that help them thrive in life. Through music, we nourish their hearts, minds, and spirits, giving them the tools to become compassionate, capable people who can make a positive difference in the world.

If some of them become great musicians one day, that's wonderful. But more importantly, we hope they become wonderful human beings.😘

World Music Family Time is an Early Start Music program that introduces children and families to music, songs, dances, and cultural traditions from around the world.

As a community music program at the heart of Early Start Music Center, it brings families together through shared musical experiences, fostering cultural awareness, creativity, and a love of music in a fun and welcoming environment.

This time, we are inviting a wonderful music educator from Brazil, Elinka Matusiak, the founder of BatuKatu. 😍😍😍
