Welcome Back, Eagles Family! 2026-27 school year already kicked in!

Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students,
Happy First Day of School! On behalf of your PTSA, welcome to what promises to be an incredible year ahead. Whether you're walking through these doors for the first time or returning as a familiar face, we're so glad you're part of our community.
We kicked off the year right by hosting a warm Welcome Brunch for our amazing staff members — a small way to say thank you for everything they do for our students. It was such a joy to see everyone connect, laugh, and celebrate the start of the year together. Our Hospitality Team also served snacks at Freshman Orientation, giving our newest Eagles a warm and welcoming send-off into high school. We have some wonderful photo memories from both events that we can't wait to share with you all!
A huge, heartfelt kudos to our Hospitality Team for their tireless work behind the scenes to make these events such a success. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and we're endlessly grateful.
We're also thrilled to share that thanks to the incredible support of our members, we've already met several of our district membership goals this year — a true testament to what this community can accomplish together! A very special shoutout to our Membership Chair, whose incredible dedication — showing up all three days of Maze Day and beyond — made this achievement possible. Your tireless effort truly does not go unnoticed!
My heartfelt thanks to all my PTSA Board Members — without you, there is no taste of success. And to all our volunteers and student members, thank you for your continued support that keeps our PTSA thriving.

Dear AHS Community,

As we start the 2026-2027 school year, wanted to share a quick recap of what AHS PTSA was able to do last year, all thanks to our members.

Last year, your membership helped us:
🎨 Support the Reflections Art Program for student creativity in visual arts, music, film & more
🎓 Fund Senior Scholarships for graduating students
💚 Invest in Student Safety & Wellness, including hygiene initiatives and wellness resources
🍽️ Celebrate our teachers through Welcome Back Lunch, Appreciation Week, and Staff Recognition events
🤝 Host the Meet the Staff Event so families could connect with teachers early on
📢 Advocate for our students through grants and hygiene initiatives

None of this would have been possible without our members and this year, we're hoping to do even more.

Whether you were a member last year or are considering joining for the first time, your membership directly funds the programs, scholarships, and support that make American High such a special place for our students.

AHSPTSA presented this year’s American High PTSA Senior Scholarship of $1000 each to four students during the Senior Awards Night on May 21st.
In the group picture with the recipients (from left to right), we have Mythreyi Subramanian (President, AHS PTSA), Jane Park, Anagha Sainath, Benita Arun, Ruhi Shah, and Vandana Gandhi (Scholarship Chair).

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the students who submitted their applications. It was a challenging task for the Scholarship Committee to select the finalists. A special thank you goes to Ms. Chih-Chow (AHS Career and College Specialist) for her unwavering support in coordinating with the students to ensure their applications were submitted.
