As the school year comes to a close, we want to recognize two very special members of our Niles family. Congratulations to Ms. Mikuni and Mr. Ken on their well-deserved retirements!
Whether it was creating a welcoming space in the library, helping students discover a love of reading, lending a helping hand around campus, or simply sharing a smile and kind word, both have touched the lives of countless Bulldogs over the years.
Thank you for your dedication, kindness, and the many ways youβve made Niles a better place. You will be greatly missed, but your impact will be felt for years to come.
Enjoy your retirement, and remember, once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog! ππΎ

What a sweet way to end the school year! π§π
Today was the last day of school, and since it was a Tuesday, our Bulldogs got to enjoy one final visit from Kona Ice! Over the past several months, Kona Ice has been coming to our school every other Tuesday, giving students and families a fun after-school treat while also supporting our school community.
Thanks to your support, Kona Ice helped raise $1,590 this year! These funds went toward supporting the Fifth Grade Party in the Park and other school expenses throughout the year.
A huge thank you to everyone who came out and purchased Kona Ice this year. Your support truly makes a difference. Weβd also like to thank Kona Ice for partnering with our school and becoming such a fun part of our Tuesdays. It has been a wonderful tradition and a great way for students to celebrate, connect, and make memories.
Thank you for helping make this school year so special, and have a fantastic summer, Bulldogs! βοΈπΎπ

Originally, Field Day was supposed to take place last week, but as we all know, Thursday brought pouring rain and forced us to postpone the event. Thankfully, yesterday turned out to be the perfect day, and our Bulldogs had an amazing time!
A huge thank you to Mr. Silveira for organizing all of the fun and engaging stations, to our wonderful parent volunteers who helped run them, and to our teachers for guiding their classes from activity to activity throughout the day. Weβd also like to thank the PTA for providing Otter Pops for all of our students to enjoy after Field Day.
It was a day filled with laughter, teamwork, and fun memories, a perfect way to wrap up another incredible school year. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a success! πΎβοΈπ

Last Wednesday, all three of our fifth-grade classes took a walking field trip to Niles Community Park, where they were greeted by parents who had organized a special celebration just for them. The afternoon was filled with giant games, bracelet-making stations, pizza, and plenty of time to relax, laugh, and enjoy being together as they wrapped up their elementary school years.
It was a wonderful opportunity for students to make a few more memories with their classmates and celebrate all they have accomplished during their time at Niles.
A huge thank you to our incredible fifth-grade teachers, dedicated parent volunteers, and of course, our amazing students for making the day so special. We are going to miss our fifth graders, but we know they are ready for their next adventure.
Remember, Bulldogs: once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog. πΎ

ππΊ Niles Dance Festival 2026 πΊπ
On Friday, Niles Elementary hosted our annual Dance Festival, one of the most anticipated and beloved events of the school year for students, staff, and families alike!
Students began learning and practicing their dances back in February during their PE classes. Our TK and kindergarten students, who do not yet participate in general PE, practiced with their classroom teachers to prepare for the big day. Months of hard work, dedication, and excitement all came together in a fantastic showcase of talent and school spirit.
We want to give a huge shoutout to our amazing PE teacher, Mr. Silveira, who puts countless hours into choreographing, teaching, and coordinating dances for every grade level. This yearβs theme featured songs by Dua Lipa, creating a fun, energetic, and high-energy atmosphere that had everyone dancing along and cheering for our Bulldogs.
Thank you to all of our students, teachers, staff, and families who helped make this event such a success. We hope everyone who attended enjoyed the performances!
For those who were unable to join us in person, or for anyone who would like to relive the fun, please see the link below to watch the full Dance Festival performance.

A New Tradition Begins at Niles! πΊ
This year, our wonderful kindergarten teacher, Miss Herrera Green, started a brand-new Hula Club at Niles Elementary. Open to students in kindergarten through second grade, this club provided a fantastic opportunity for our younger Bulldogs to participate in an after-school activity. Many of our after-school programs, such as sports and cheerleading, are geared toward older students, so it was exciting to offer something specially designed for our younger learners.
Throughout the year, students learned hula dancing and worked hard preparing for a special performance at our annual Niles Elementary Dance Festival. They did an amazing job showcasing their talents and sharing the spirit of hula with our school community.
We are so grateful to Miss Herrera Green for bringing this wonderful opportunity to our students, and we are excited to see the Hula Club become another cherished tradition at Niles for years to come! πΊππΎ
