Las Fallas de Valencia is a traditional festival celebrated every March in Valencia, Spain, where artists commissioned by neighborhood committees spend months building large artistic monuments called fallas. These sculptures are usually made of wood, cardboard, and paper mache, and they often include humor, satire, or social commentary about everyday life and current events. At the end of the festival, the fallas are burned in a ceremony called La Cremà, which symbolizes letting go of the past, renewal, and making space for a fresh start. It’s both a celebration of creativity and a reminder that even beautiful things are temporary.
