I am beyond thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of my students -the Class of 2026. This cohort has shown a level of grit, focus, and intellectual curiosity that is truly inspiring.
What makes this group stand out isn’t just their impressive destinations, but the fact that they owned the process. From the late-night essay polishes to the deep-dive research into programs, these seniors drove their own success with maturity and diligence.

Our seniors are heading out to tackle the world’s most complex challenges across an amazing array of disciplines. This year, we saw a massive surge in:
Engineering & Robotics: Pioneering the next frontier in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, and Materials Engineering, alongside cutting-edge Robotics.
Tech Frontier: Diving deep into Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Science, and Applied Math & Statistics.
Life Sciences & Health: Pursuing Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Pharmacology, and Public Health.
Human Behavior & Systems: Exploring the why and how through Psychology, Cognitive Science, Economics, and Business Administration.

To my Seniors:
Take a moment to breathe and realize what you’ve accomplished. You didn't just get through the process; you mastered it. Your hard work has opened doors to some of the most prestigious and innovative programs in the world, and you earned every bit of it.
I am genuinely excited to see the impact you will make next. Whether you are building the next generation of spacecraft, securing our digital infrastructure, advancing global health, or deepening our understanding of the human mind—I know you’ll do it with the same passion you showed throughout the process.

Hilltop Highlights: Visiting Cal State East Bay

I had a wonderful time attending the 2026 Counselor Appreciation Event this past Friday, February 20th, at Cal State East Bay. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the admissions team and see firsthand how the "Pioneer" experience continues to evolve to meet the needs of today’s students.

Here are my top takeaways from the visit:

Nursing and Health Leadership: CSUEB remains a powerhouse for healthcare, housing one of the most competitive and respected Nursing programs in California. Their commitment to clinical excellence ensures students are ready to lead in the Bay Area’s medical landscape.

Remarkable STEM support: A standout feature of the campus is the STEM Lab, located in the modern Braddock Center for Science and Innovation. This hub is remarkable for its Learning Assistant (LA) program, where undergraduate peer mentors and graduate Teaching Associates (TAs) provide academic support to students both inside and outside the classroom and are vital partners in the student academic journey.

The CORE Hub: The CORE building (completed in 2022) is truly the heart of the modern campus. It achieved the prestigious Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), highlighting the university's commitment to sustainability. As a high-tech academic center, it provides students with state-of-the-art resources for research and innovation.

Community and Connection: Visiting the cafeteria was a highlight—it’s a huge, welcoming space that boasts a breathtaking, panoramic view of the entire Bay. It’s also has the "Kindness Wall," a beautiful reflection of the inclusive and supportive "student-first" environment that defines the CSUEB community.

Popular Majors: With popular programs in Psychology, Business, and Computer Science, Cal State East Bay continues to be an engine for social mobility, directly connecting students to professional opportunities in the region.

With its modern facilities and strong sense of community, Cal State East Bay is a fantastic local option for students.
