Equality, Decolonization and Rehumanization must begin with PARENTS who search for and tell OUR STORIES of healing from before birth. Our stories need to heal the parents who will heal their own minds while telling these stories to their wives and yet unborn children. Not only reconnecting themselves to their forgotten ancestral stories, but to our collective human heritage, the land, ancestry, self confidence and self worth in order to heal ourselves & our planet.
Emile YX? & Heal The Hood Project from Cape Town, South Africa are creating alternative African Children's stories, Lullabies and Animation to share with various schools and communities. The topics of these range from self confidence to heritage to healing to self worth and determination. We ultimately wish to create pocket size booklets for school kids at the 15 schools we currently work (1500) kids. Each PDF you buy for $10 will ensure that a child gets 2 copies of these booklets of their choice. $200 gets you access to the entire collection and a full set for 4 children. Our facilitators teach these stories in English and Kaaps (the local creole language of the people of Cape Town). We have seen huge changes in their sense of self worth and pride in their heritage. Many people forget that one of the worst legacies of Apartheid and slavery is the devaluation of the peoples sense of self worth and self love. We have found that it is this lacking that has a huge impact on the violence inflicted on self and others through physical or substance abuse, gangsterism and other historically influenced ills.
