September 25 - Special Board Meeting

A special THANK YOU to our IT staff who keep our technology running behind the scenes! From fixing those mysterious computer problems to keeping our systems, networks, and devices working, our IT team does so much more than most people realize.

Thank you for your patience, knowledge, hard work, and for always being there when we hear the words, “Something happened to my computer!” 😂

We truly appreciate everything you do to keep us connected, productive, and moving forward. Your work may often happen behind the scenes, but it definitely does not go unnoticed!

Due to unforeseen circumstances and the inability to have a quorum for tonight’s board meeting, Freer ISD’s September Board Meeting will be cancelled.

We still have a required timeline to adopt the tax rate, approve the amended budget, and certify compliance with certain laws as required by Texas Education Code before the end of September. As a result, we will hold a Special Board Meeting on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 5:15 p.m., with a Public Hearing at 5:00 p.m.

The agenda for the special meeting is included in this post.

We will also post September 30, 2026, as a contingency date in the event we are unable to hold the meeting on September 25.

Due to the Texas Open Meetings Act posting requirements, we essentially have to post the meeting 96 hours in advance—72 hours plus the day of the meeting.

All other agenda items that were scheduled for tonight’s September board meeting will be moved to the regularly scheduled October Board Meeting.
