As I sit here tonight at a wedding rehearsal, I cant help but think about how long I have been with the Aquin students. Some I have had since Kindergarten. For some I came midway through their elementary career then continued to be with them at Highland....and now play at their weddings. Others, I just met this year. One fact remains ...no matter how long our paths have crossed....they are all "my kids."
As we face our LAST day of Aquin tomorrow, I find myself thinking about all of the memories ๐ฅน The concerts, the field trips, the puzzles, the nursing home caroling, FHN caroling, music festivals, but most of all....our time in the music room ๐ต
I had one rule in the music room....we are a FAMILY. What does that mean? We use kind words, we respect one another, we build each other up, and if there is a misunderstanding we talk it out. Over the years, this one rule stood strong and we did in fact build one big family.๐๐
To say I will miss Aquin and the students, is a HUGE understatement. Ive had my moments during this last week...I think we all have. I just keep coming back to this quote from the wise Winnie the Pooh.....
"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."
'Til we meet again kiddos๐ค
