Picture Day is scheduled for tomorrow! We understand that some families may still be recovering from the storm and that your child may not be ready for picture day, and we completely understand.

We will begin with Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades tomorrow and finish with 3rd, 4th, and VE on Friday. Makeup and retake pictures will be available on December 4th, so there is no need to worry if your child is not ready this week.

Our priority is making sure our families are safe and have the time they need to recover. We look forward to seeing our students smiling for picture day when they are ready!

Thank you for your understanding and support!

💙💛 Back to school. Back to routines. One day at a time.

As students and educators return to classrooms following Hurricane Isaias, we know that life hasn’t returned to normal for everyone.

Some families are still cleaning up. Some are navigating unexpected challenges. And some are simply exhausted from a very difficult week.

❤️ Be kind. Be patient. Give each other grace.

To our teachers, school staff, administrators, parents, and caregivers: Thank you for helping our children find a sense of normalcy again. Your compassion matters now more than ever.

And please remember, you don’t have to navigate recovery alone. If you or someone you know needs assistance with food, housing, utilities, or other essential services, United Way’s 211 Northwest Florida can help connect you to available resources.

We’ll find our new normal together. One day, one act of kindness, and one helping hand at a time. 💙

We are excited to welcome our students back tomorrow, Wednesday, October 14! We hope everyone is safe and doing well following the past several days. We know this has been a challenging time for many of our families, and we look forward to seeing our Wildcats back at school.

Our district office staff, cafeteria manager, and custodial team have been working hard to get our school ready for tomorrow. We are grateful for their efforts and dedication to making sure our students and staff can return to campus.

Meals
Our kitchen is up and running, and we have food and milk ready to serve our students tomorrow.

Report Cards
Report cards will go home on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

Family Support
If your family is still without power or your child needs a little more time at home before returning to school, please notify your child's teacher. We understand that every family's situation is different, and we will excuse these absences. Your family's safety and well-being are important to us.

Most importantly, we understand that our students and families may have experienced a great deal over the past several days. Please know that we care about our students and we are here to support them as we return to our normal routines. We will work together to help students feel comfortable, supported, and ready to learn.

Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and continued support. We are thankful for our Freeport community and look forward to having our students back on campus!

Thank you,

Kristin Lewis
Principal

3rd grade Mrs. Anderson, Ms. Murphy, and Mrs. Zamora got together to work in AVID Collaborative Study Groups. Each class learned one strategy to solve division (equal groups, arrays, inverse operations) then worked with other students from the other classes to share ideas. There were a lot of good, solid conversations and students did well learning from each other. We are so proud of all of them learning and growing together🩵💖

All Walton County School District campuses will be closed Thursday, October 8, and Friday, October 9, due to anticipated impacts from Isaias. This closure applies to all extracurricular activities such as athletic games, practices, and club meetings.

The safety of our students, staff, and families remains our highest priority. These closures will allow families time to prepare and follow guidance from Walton County Emergency Management.

Future updates and announcements will be available on District social media channels as well as our website.
