I have had time to reflect who I am and who I have become. You would think they are the same but they are far from being the same because I change daily. This daily change is not a 180 degree change; it’s a gradual change that’s only notable by me and those who know the real me! The change has settled in but it does’nt linger because the next day brings more change. So what’s the challenge? The challenge is to live in the moment; to stay in that moment and experience all it has to offer you! Don’t worry about yesterday and don’t try to control the future just embrace the moment, the now because truly that’s all we have is now! Yesterday is gone...tomorrow is not here and we have this moment so cherish it and embrace it and value what it has for you because you will never have it again!

Minions. Oh I mean children of all sizes have many things in common, but the thing I want to highlight today is belonging! Every living thing that has a heart beat and a brain at one time, in its life time was a part of a group, pod, heard, pack, pride, flock or a family. Unfortunately for some children they were cheated out of that experience for many reasons to numerous to list in this post. I want to focus on a result and the solutions. First of all I want to say...we can NOT change their past. It has already happen and we must move forward from this moment.

What do we do for children big, small and in between that have not sense or understanding of what it means to be a part of a loving family? Yes, it would be wonderful to take them home with you, but that is not realistic for every child. Wow, some will be placed into loving homes with caring patient families; however, the majority of the older children will not. Therefore, we must be the teachers and examples of inclusion and acceptance. No, no, no...you cannot teach this in a classroom nor Sunday school it can only be taught in the real world.

The real world where we are all different. If we show acceptance and include others that are different than we are, children will take note of that. If we are examples in the real world we show our super powers to embrace difficult people with strong differences because we respect their differences because of humanity. That is powerful to a child with no example of personal acceptance.

I believe in the super powers of love and acceptance and so do children, no matter their size. We as adults need to be the true "Super Heroes and Super Sheroes" to be the examples of INCLUSION and ACCEPTANCE for all children!

When I come to work I am surrounded by my little friends. My colleagues, students, but when I open the door of my office..."THEY" greet meet with high expectation for the day!

Yes, they are on the walls, the table, the file cabinet and yes the "shelf". However, they are not like , "The Elf" on the shelf you guys have in your homes or places of business. My Minion friends are not placed around my office to spy on me and report my short comings back to those in charge of the system I work in! No my little friends await my arrival each day with excitement and expectations to work with me!
