We are excited to watch this partnership grow and wish all of our medical assistants good luck this year and are excited to see our students develop in their careers serving their communities. Welcome to highland!!!

CGH is proud to support current employees through leadership development and education. Through a partnership with Highland Community College in Freeport, we are able to send eight employees to train as medical assistants while continuing to work in our family practice clinics.

Students will attend class and lab two days a week, while working in their current role as a CNA or receptionist at CGH the rest of the week. The students will complete nine months of training through Highland’s accredited program and be eligible to sit for the certification exam next summer.

Congratulations to the class of 2026! It was a wonderful day celebrating you and your accomplishments. Be proud of everything you have accomplished. The faculty and staff of the nursing and allied health division wish you all the best on your future endeavors and we are all so honored to have part of your journey!

Happy end of nurses week. We celebrated our current and future nurses by partnering with our Ag department to take a moment out of our busy days and plant some herbs. It is a reminder to step away, slow down, and do something that helps your mind refresh and be ready for what lays ahead.

Happy nurses week to past, present and future nurses of highland community college! We started the celebration with snacks and treats! We also start finals week tomorrow, let’s get some shout outs to our students and wish them luck!!

Today marks the beginning of Nurses Week! Thank you to all nurses for everything you do!
