Genesis earned this recognition for completing the most volunteer hours this month! She has given her time to serve our community through opportunities like volunteering at the Brazoria County Dream Center, Beach Clean-Up, and more!

Our Principles of Health Science students have been learning all about the skeletal system, and today they got to put that knowledge into action by practicing proper splinting techniques using Ortho-Glass and SAM splints!

Our Health Science Theory students put their knowledge to work today by completing mock patient chart audits after learning about medical law and ethics! Students reviewed charts for proper documentation, confidentiality, accuracy, and potential legal or ethical concerns. This activity gave students a hands on look at why accurate documentation and protecting patient information are so important in healthcare.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Galvan with Sweeny Community Hospital for coming out today to complete orientation with our Health Science Clinical and Practicum students! This allows them to go to multiple sites associated with their system ranging from EMS to primary care offices.
Our students also got to put their skills to the test by demonstrating proper PPE donning and doffing and making sure they were ready to safely enter the clinical setting.
We are so grateful for community partners like Sweeny Community Hospital who invest their time in preparing our students for real-world healthcare experiences. We’re excited for another great year of clinicals!

Our HOSA officers spent their morning volunteering at the BISD 5K & Wellness Fair! 🩺

They put their healthcare skills into action by taking manual vital signs and helping promote health and wellness in our community.
We love seeing our students learn, serve, and gain real-world experience outside the classroom!
