If you didn't get a chance to come to our Celebration of Native Americans Day today you missed a lot of really fun stuff. Several highlights included the eagle dance, the jingle dress dancer and the Hoop dancer. Beautiful ragalia, fun storytelling, and just a great all day all-around. Thank you to everybody who made it wonderful, including the Native American Awareness Committee out of Rockford who provided food and the children's table. A huge thank you to Flachemeier Monuments who provided bottled water for the day.

Thanks everybody for coming.

So what are you going to see if you come to our Celebration of Native Americans Education Day tomorrow on June sixth, from ten am to 4 pm in Freeport IL? First of all, the smell of wonderful fry bread should bring everybody in especially if you like walking tacos and wild rice soup. You can't miss the teepee that is going to be set up, hopefully. We're watching the weather to be able to set it up safely. There will be a variety of vendors including...
Jewelry, dream catchers, beadwork, drums, and lots of wonderful handmade crafts. Our MMIW t shirts will be for sale as well. Hoo Haven is coming in the morning and bringing animals to show and talk about. Storytellers will be on hand to tell native stories. So everybody is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and their camp chairs so you have a place to sit. We will have a how-to- make fry bread demonstration and how- to- make- a- drum demonstration going on during the day. Our wonderful flute player will be playing some beautiful music. The list of things goes on and on and the day will pass quickly. Come early, so you don't miss the sacred pipe ceremony and smudging at ten am.

We hope to see you all there. Rain or shine. Like I said, don't forget to bring a chair. You can sit inside the tabernacle or outside in the park if it's nice.
