A Powerful Chemical Immobilization Course Will be in Laramie, WY on June 2-4, 2026.
Dr. Mark Johnson of Global Wildlife Resources will offer a 3-day Wildlife Handling & Chemical Immobilization course on June 2-4, 2026, at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, WY.
This course is hosted by Capture Lab Rx (https://capturelabrx.com/) creating great opportunity for strong discussions on the most current topics in chemical immobilization. A student rate is available.
This hands-on course is designed for state, federal, and tribal wildlife professionals; veterinarians; animal control and field services personnel; zoo and sanctuary caretakers; college students; and exotic animal managers seeking practical, field-ready chemical capture training.
Participants will have:
- Daily hands-on labs, including live-animal chemical immobilization
- Practical experience with drug delivery systems, darting, and dose calculations
- Needle, syringe, blood collection, and patient monitoring skills
- Field-based decision-making focused on human and animal safety
The course provides CE hours for The Wildlife Society Professional Development Program. It is RACE approved and is recognized by NACA.
