Thanks to the generous support of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties and its donors, HISPA expanded its programs its Role Model Program and Imagine Days in Palm Beach County in 2025-26, connecting low-income middle school students with diverse professionals who inspire them to pursue college and explore careers they may have never imagined for themselves.

Too many students lack access to role models who reflect their backgrounds and can help them envision a future in college and high-skill careers, particularly in STEM. Without that exposure, opportunities can feel out of reach.

Together, we reached 338 middle school students across Palm Beach County with STEM and other role models, career exploration, and college inspirationโ€”mobilizing 69 volunteers and surpassing our student impact goals, with 92% learning about STEM careers, 91% increasing their desire to attend college, and 87% feeling encouraged to strengthen their STEM skills. Most importantly, students left believing that their dreams were within reach.

We are honored to continue building on this momentum through our new three-year partnership, expanding opportunities for even more Palm Beach students to see themselves in tomorrow's college classrooms and high-skill careers.

We are incredibly grateful to the Princeton Area Community Foundation for helping HISPA connect 288 Mercer County students with inspiring role models, college opportunities, and career exploration through our Role Model and Leaders in College programs during the 2025-26 school year.

By connecting middle school and college students with diverse professionals, we helped students envision futures in college and careers they may have never considered. One student said, โ€œYou inspired me to attend college. I learned there will be difficult times, but it is important to push through the challenges. If I am passionate about something, I should do it.โ€

Together, we inspired students to dream bigger: In Trenton 9th Grade Academy and PACE CHARTER SCHOOL OF HAMILTON INC, 92% learned about new careers, 89% increased their desire to attend college, and 95% felt encouraged to work harder toward their goals. College students also strengthened their professional skills and future college and career plans, expanded their networks, and two Rider University students secured Bloomberg internships through the program.

We are grateful to continue building on this momentum in year two of our partnership, creating even more opportunities for Mercer County students to discover their potential and pursue brighter futures.

The momentum continues at Bloomberg!

HISPA is proud to celebrate Jezabel Fernandez, a CHPRD New Jersey Governorโ€™s Hispanic Fellows Program alumna from the Class of 2025, who is spending her summer as a Global Revenue Operations intern at Bloomberg.

We are incredibly proud to see Jezabel continue building on the leadership and professional skills she developed through the Fellows Program. Watching our alumni thrive and pursue exciting career opportunities is exactly what this program is all about.

Congratulations, Jezabel! We can't wait to see all that you'll accomplish in the years ahead.

HISPA is proud to celebrate an exciting milestone for our Leaders in College program!

Congratulations to program graduates Dayro Culcay Chacha and Vanessa Reino from Norm Brodsky College of Business at Rider University, who have secured summer internships at Bloomberg's headquarters in New York City as Employee Technical Support interns.

Their achievement is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to professional growth. Through the Leaders in College program, they strengthened their career readiness, expanded their professional networks, and gained the skills and confidence to pursue opportunities like this.

We couldn't be prouder of Dayro and Vanessa and look forward to seeing all they accomplish as they continue building their careers. Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement!

Special heartfelt thank you to Luis Valle Burguete from Bloomberg for being an amazing liaison with HISPA and our students.

Last week, HISPA proudly celebrated the successful completion of our inaugural Experiential Learning Opportunity (ELO) Program with Passaic County Community College!

Over the past four months, more than 90 students gained hands-on experience while exploring a wide range of career pathwaysโ€”from designing and leading robotics workshops for students in Passaic to analyzing financial markets and engaging with professionals across industries. These experiences helped students build confidence, practical skills, and a deeper understanding of future career opportunities.

A heartfelt thank you to AT&T, Verizon, KinderSmile Foundation, Bloomberg, and UPS for opening your doors and making these transformative experiences possible.

We are incredibly proud of every Passaic County Community College student who participated, and we can't wait to see where their journeys lead next.

Finally, our deepest gratitude to our outstanding PCCC partners, especially our ELO leads: Susan Gaulden, Yelena Lyudmilova, Ed.D., Maxwell Toledo, Ian Berdugo, Aleeah Powell, Abrar Rawashdeh, MA, and Garland G. Collins. Your partnership, leadership, and commitment made this program a tremendous success.

Final stop in HISPAโ€™s Leadership Workshop Series with Passaic County Community College: Citi headquarters in New York City for an inspiring day of insight into the financial services industry. The experience was filled with opportunities to learn about financial empowerment, career pathways, and the importance of taking ownership of oneโ€™s futureโ€”while reminding students that every journey is unique and success is built through courage and resilience. It was a true delight for our students.

Some highlights include:

๐Ÿ‘‚Listening to a panel of diverse professionals from unique backgrounds, moderated by Janet Arias-Martinez. Our panelistsโ€”Cain Colon, Jessica Monterrubio, and Javier R. Araujoโ€”each provided insights from the unique journeys that led them to their careers and demonstrated the importance of chasing your dreams, building a strong network, and knowing itโ€™s never too late to pivot.

๐Ÿ’ฐLearning Financial Empowerment 101 from Angel Lopez, CFPยฎ, who broke down the key elements of budgeting, building your financial foundation, and creating a financial legacy.

๐Ÿ’ปAn exclusive tour of Citiโ€™s Cyber Security Fusion Center provided a first-hand look into the cybersecurity field.

Special thank you to Janet Arias-Martinez for making the day possible and to Elena Ramos-Velita for gathering support from the Hispanic Latino Heritage Network NY Chapter.

We also thank Susan Gaulden, Yelena Lyudmilova, Ed.D., Garland G. Collins M.A., Aleeah Powell, Maxwell Toledo, Abrar Rawashdeh, MA, and Ian Berdugo for their incredible support in bringing the exceptional Passaic County Community College student cohort to NYC!
