Established in 1998, Freehold Montessori Preschool follows the principles of education developed from the research of Dr. Maria Montessori. Our school is licensed for 82 children, whom are guided by dedicated, talented, and highly qualified Montessori teachers and experienced assistants. The school is an affiliate of the American Montessori Society and is licensed by the state of New Jersey under

the division of youth and family services. We have teachers and teacher’s aides whom have been with the preschool for numerous years, including our resident primary teacher whom has been with us for over 20 years! Freehold Montessori Preschool is located on three beautiful acres of wooded land in Freehold, New Jersey. Our quaint buildings and wonderful shaded play areas were intelligently and thoughtfully designed to enhance the education experiences for both teachers and children.

One of our favorite weeks at FMS because it gives our families the opportunity to get involved and share their professions and experiences with our students!

🐾 Veterinarian: Learning how we care for animals and keep them healthy.

⚡ Electrician: Exploring electricity, how it works, and important electrical safety.

🩺 Nurse Practitioner: Learning about our bodies, health, and how healthcare professionals help us.

🍎 Nutritionist: Discovering how healthy foods help our bodies grow, learn, and stay strong. Students also enjoyed a hands-on popcorn tasting experience, exploring different tastes, smells, and varieties of popcorn!🍿

We are so grateful to our FMS families for taking the time to share their careers with our children. These real-world experiences give students the opportunity to ask questions, explore new ideas, use their senses, and connect classroom learning to the world around them. ❤️

Our final water play of the summer! We can hardly believe summer camp is coming to an end. 🥹

What an amazing summer it has been at FMS! From field trips and water play to crafts, hands-on learning, professional week, sports, farm adventures, and real-life experiences, our children have spent the summer exploring, creating, discovering, and having SO much fun!

FMS campers had an amazing field trip to Happy Day Farm! From picking fresh blueberries 🫐 to enjoying tractor rides 🚜 and feeding the animals 🐐🐓, there was something exciting around every corner!

It was a day filled with hands-on learning, outdoor exploration and plenty of smiles. Our children experienced the farm in so many ways—connecting with nature, learning about where our food comes from, and enjoying all the fun a farm has to offer!

Fun. Learning. Exploration. Adventure. That’s what an FMS field trip is all about! 🌱☀️

Our children had fun while learning the basics of team sports with TNT Sports! From dribbling and passing to shooting, serving, scoring, and understanding teamwork, the children were introduced to skills that go far beyond simply playing a game.

Obstacle courses, basketball, tennis, soccer,and more allowed students to learn about different team sports while building coordination, confidence, listening skills, and sportsmanship.

We love bringing experiences like this to FMS and giving our students opportunities to learn through movement, play, and teamwork!

Freehold Montessori Junior Chefs had a wonderful time at Romeo's Italian American! 🍕👩‍🍳

The children enjoyed making their own pizzas while learning firsthand what it takes to prepare a meal from start to finish. From stretching the dough to adding their favorite toppings, the children discovered that cooking is about creativity, teamwork, and having fun. Experiences like these help connect classroom learning with real-life skills while building confidence and independence.

A special thank you to Lino at Romeo's Italian American for welcoming our students. We love supporting fellow small businesses and are grateful to be part of such a caring Freehold community. ❤️

Water Play Day at FMS! 💦☀️

Our students had an amazing time cooling off with sprinklers, water games, and plenty of laughter while enjoying the sunshine with their friends. Water play provides more than just fun—it encourages teamwork, builds confidence, strengthens motor skills, and creates unforgettable summer memories. There were lots of smiles, happy splashes, and joyful moments all around. What a perfect way to celebrate summer together!

Science Week at FMS was filled with creativity, discovery, and hands-on learning right inside our classrooms! 🧪🎨🚀

Our students explored science through exciting experiments and creative projects, including the Magic Milk and Pepper Experiment, making delicious fruit tacos, blowing bubbles, learning about dinosaurs, exploring our solar system, building rockets, and so much more. Every activity encouraged curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of discovery while making learning fun and memorable.

At FMS, we believe the best learning happens when children are actively engaged, asking questions, experimenting, and creating.
