Watsonville Young Eagles Kids Fly Free at EAA Chapter 119 based at Watsonville airport! Aviation is exciting and vital to our nation's future.

The Young Eagles Program has been developed by the EAA Aviation Foundation to welcome young people into the world of aviation. They will experience a safe and enjoyable flight that will give new perspectives on the world and life in general. Participation in the Young Eagle's Program will help them understand that an individual's potential is unlimited. EAA's Young Eagles program is designed to gi

ve the next generation of aviation enthusiasts the chance to ride the skies. The Young Eagle program has been a tremendous success flying over ONE MILLION youngsters worldwide. Youth get quality, one-on-one time with EAA pilots. The hope is that the experience will spark a young person's curiosity to learn more. Each Young Eagle participant receives a certificate and is entered into the "World's Largest Logbook," maintained by the EAA Air Adventure Museum. Contact EAA or a participating Young Eagle Flight Leader to find out how to become a Young Eagle. EAA Chapter 119 has safely flown over 6500 kids since we started holding Young Eagle Rallies in 1992. The program consists of an explanation of how airplanes fly and a flight of approximately 20 minutes around the Watsonville - Santa Cruz area. After the flight, each child receives a certificate commemorating the experience. Parents / Guardians are required to sign a registration form. Additionally, Chapter 119 provides a scholarship for a child 14 - 15 to go to Oshkosh Wisconsin every summer to the EAA Air Academy. The Jan 3rd Young Eagles Rally is cancelled for rain.
February 7th will be a Open House since the Watsonville airspace will be full of Jets bringing in people to go to the Super Bowl in San Jose.
March 7th will be next flying rally.
