On Saturday, August 15th, the Freeburg FFA Chapter participated in the homecoming parade. We passed out past years FFA t-shirts, as well as candy and toys! We would also like to give a special thanks to the Sawyer family for pulling the float.

This past Monday the Freeburg FFA Chapter members and alumni helped with the annual rose garden cleanup. That evening, we tidied up by trimming trees and bushes, pulling weeds, and laying new mulch! The garden is looking gorgeous and is ready for a new year, thanks to everyone that came out to help! We also want to give a special thank you to Mayer Landscaping for their donations and help with the rose garden!

We are excited to announce that the Freeburg FFA Chapter has been rated as a Three Star Chapter through the National FFA Organization! This is the second year in a row that our chapter has received this recognition and is one of only about 30 FFA chapters in the state that has been selected to receive this honor this year. This recognition is based on the National Chapter Award Program, which is designed to recognize FFA chapters that actively implement the mission and strategies of the organization through planned activities throughout the year. Less than 10% of chapters nationwide are given a ranking from the National FFA Organization! The chapter will be recognized on stage this fall at the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana!

Additionally, three of our FFA members, Kylee Kesler, Gavin Range, and Avery Parker, earned Silver ratings at the National Agricultural Proficiency Awards for their respective SAE project areas! After winning at the state level, they completed rigorous applications earlier this summer and were judged at the national level. We are incredibly proud of these state winners and the hard work they put into receiving this national recognition!

📸2026 Illinois FFA State Convention Photo Dump!📸

The Freeburg FFA Chapter wrapped up the 98th Annual Illinois FFA State Convention yesterday in Springfield! We were recognized at the convention with multiple individual and chapter awards. Below are some of those highlights over the course of our three days:

⭐️ Freeburg FFA was recognized on stage as a Gold program through the National Chapter Award Program.
⭐️Freeburg FFA was recognized on stage as a National Finalist through the National Chapter Award Program (Top 25 overall high school program in the entire state of Illinois!).
⭐️Freeburg FFA was recognized on stage as the Section 22 Winner in the area of Strengthening Agriculture through the National Chapter Award Program (4th overall high school program in the entire state of Illinois!).
⭐️Gavin Range, Avery Parker, and Kylee Kesler were recognized for their State Winning Supervised Agricultural Experience Proficiency Award Areas in Vegetable Production, Dairy Production (Placement), and Equine Science (Placement), respectively.
⭐️Taylor Beisiegel was recognized as an American FFA Degree recipient. She will officially receive her degree this fall in Indianapolis at the National FFA Convention!
⭐️Breanna Diefenbach, Karcyn Ellis, AnnaBelle Reynolds, Cole Spacher, Jackson Grommet, Gavin Range, and Avery Parker received their Illinois FFA State Degrees, the highest degree you can receive through the Illinois Association FFA! This was also the most State FFA Degrees earned in a single year by Freeburg FFA members in school history!
⭐️ Freeburg FFA received their certificate for a Silver Ranking within the FFA Digital Scrapbook Contest.
⭐️ Cole Spacher received recognition as a Silver ranking individual through the Illinois FFA Chapter President Award Program.
⭐️Alex Sawyer received recognition as a Silver ranking individual through the Illinois FFA Chapter Reporter Award Program. He also had the opportunity to be a flag bearer during the introductions at the first session during the State Convention!
⭐️ Freeburg FFA was recognized as a $1,000 donor through the Illinois FFA Foundation!

We also made some time to enjoy the city of Springfield throughout the week! We made some amazing memories this week and it was a great way to wrap up a successful year for our chapter!

Today, we received judging results for the 2026 Illinois FFA Digital Scrapbook contest. We are pleased to announce that the Freeburg FFA Chapter has received a SILVER ranking for this year.

To be judged for this award, FFA members had to create a scrapbook utilizing digital media that highlighted chapter awards, recognition and events throughout the course of this past school year.

A special thanks to Dr. Ed Jodlowski, Owner of Kickapoo Valley Dairy Goats, who took the opportunity to talk to Animal Science and Veterinary Technology students a few weeks ago! Dr. Jodlowski had some great conversations regarding the different facets of the dairy goat industry, animal reproduction, and even brought in two kid goats to class!

Congratulations to Alex Sawyer, 2025-2026 Freeburg FFA Chapter Reporter, who received a SILVER rating through the 2026 Illinois FFA Chapter Reporter Awards process for this year! For this recognition, Alex had to complete a lengthy application process answering questions regarding his duties as a reporter for this school year!

We had a fantastic turnout at our chapter banquet on Tuesday night! Congratulations to all of the degree and award recipients. What a great way to end the school year!
