Fredonia ACDA is all about “why music” and showing off the passion we can share to others.
As we count down the days back to our ACDA Family, the EBOARD would like to share their favorite choir pieces that give them their passion for music 🎹✨🎶

President:
My favorite choir piece is “Prayer of the Children” arranged by Andrea Klouse. I sang it in Italy last summer on the Fredonia Choirs Trip. This song is a beautiful interpretation of resilience through music. It really spoke to me and reminded me of why I wanted to become a teacher, so I can speak to my students through music, much like this song did for me.

To Sit and Dream by Rosephanye Powell
Special Events Coordinator:
Kanaval by Sydney Guillame. The reason why is because I sang it in high school and got to meet the composer over zoom, it was a super cool experience and I love the complexity of the overlapping parts. It’s also just so fun to sing.
Treasurer:
One of favorite choral songs I have done is “Can You Hear” by Jim Papoulis. I did this song for the first time in 8th grade and a second time for All-County in 10th grade with Jim Papoulis as the conductor. Its an extremely beautiful piece and it is so meaningful in many different ways!
Secretary:
My favorite choir piece has been No Time! It’s a song I can hear over and over without ever getting tired of, and I love how hopeful it is.
PR Chair:
Al Shlosha D’varim by Allen E. Naplan has been a piece that has stuck to me since 5th-8th All county choir experiences. It was the first piece of music that brought my passion of music alive. It reminds me how powerful music can be to a person. It is a beautiful written piece!
