Add soft play balls to a water tray with ladles and containers for scooping and transferring. Add a few drops of food colouring to change the colour of the water. 💦 🌈🌿

Our friends at School 4 were very busy in the months of March and April.

We kicked off March by celebrating Read Across America week and by hosting a Curriculum Fair to show families how our classrooms help children learn by facilitating play opportunities through the Creative Curriculum. Throughout Read Across America week we welcomed several guest readers throughout the building!
We celebrated Agricultural Literacy Week and had a special guest reader come in to read a story and do a short activity with students.

In April, we celebrated the Week of the Young Child and talked about what makes us all special. We created some tasty and healthy snacks, celebrated Music Monday, and so much more. The children planted pinwheels for Child Abuse Prevention Month.

We can’t wait to see what the rest of the program year brings us!

Read Across America, Campus and Community Children's Center
One of the nationwide activities that I love is “Read Across America” and its National Reading Month - March. This year, First Lady Valeria Kolison (Val) and I were invited to read to children at the Campus and Community Children's Center (CCCC). Val read a book called “Tree, a Peek-through Board Book” by Britta Teckentrup, and I read “Thank You, Tree” illustrated by Fiona Lee. I was impressed by the attention span of the children. They sat through our reading of both books. It was fun, and we really enjoyed our time with the children.

I want to congratulate the CCCC on their 50th Anniversary. For the last 50 years the CCCC has been providing early educational start to children of families in our community. It is a tremendous resource to have in our community. So, shout out to all the staff and children at the CCCC. Happy 50th Anniversary!

Friends and family of CCCC. We are planning for an amazing 2024-2025 year serving the children and families in Fredonia at our SUNY Fredonia Campus location and in Dunkirk at our DCSD School #4 location. Most classrooms are fully enrolled for the fall but we have a few openings for Infants from 8 weeks to 12 months old. We accept privately paid tuition, child care assistance, and offer a Block grant program for college students attending a SUNY school. Interested families should call 716-673-4662 for more information and a Waitlist form. Facility tours are available.
