Passing on the Legacy

Vandaag 25 jaar geleden overleed Tristan Keuris, veel te jong. In deze brief in het werkarchief van Keuris, dat door ons beheerd wordt, mooie complimenten van saxofoonlegende Sigurd Rascher,over Keuris' Concerto voor saxofoonkwartet en orkest, (juni 1987 uitgevoerd door het Raschersaxophonequartet).

At the Zürich Airport
Swiss Air (no longer exists) offered to transport SMR's contra-bass free-of-charge from New York to Zürich in exchange for using photos for their advertisement. It read, "We even fly contra-bass saxophones!" I have no exact date, but it must have been in the '70s.

SIGURD MANFRED RASCHER - 15. May 1907 - 25. February 2001

How quickly these past 20 years have gone since the passing of my dear father and mentor. It is heart-warming to know that an entire new generation of saxophone enthusiasts, through the dedication of their teachers, are being taught on the basis of SMR's artistic legacy, profound knowledge, and educational insight. The results are very promising. We all have so much to be thankful for.
