🎉 WELCOME TO THE FREDDIE FAMILY! 🎉

Please join us in welcoming Kamela Owen, our new 6–12 Vocal Music Teacher, to Fredericktown Local Schools! 🎶❤️🩶

When she’s not making music, Kamela enjoys boating, traveling, and cuddling with her dogs. 🐶 She and her husband also opened Owen Music last February, where she enjoys teaching private lessons and connecting with the many talented musicians throughout Knox County.
Kamela is especially excited to become part of a music program with such a strong reputation.
“Fredericktown's music department has always had a great reputation in the music world, and I am thrilled to be able to play a part in that this year. The community support and student engagement is impressive!
She also shared how much she admires the pride and loyalty that so many members of the Fredericktown community have for their schools.
“I know many people affiliated with Fredericktown Local Schools, and they are always so proud to be a Freddie and loyal to this community.”
We are thrilled to have Kamela joining our team and can't wait to see the impact she makes with our students! Welcome to Fredericktown, Kamela! We’re so glad you’re part of the Freddie Family! 🎶🐾❤️🩶

🔔A New Bell for an Old Tradition 🏈
The Victory Bell has long been part of the tradition at Freddie Stadium, and now a beautiful new bell has been added to help celebrate our Freddie victories! ❤️🩶
This new brass bell has a special connection to Fredericktown—it was made right here in Fredericktown! The bell was discovered by Dan and Deb Hathaway through Aimen Yoder of Waterford, who collects bells and had two beautiful brass bells that had never been installed. Dan and Deb purchased one and generously donated it to Fredericktown Schools to become our new Victory Bell.
The bell now has a permanent home on a beautiful brick platform at the stadium, where it will be lit up to shine for all to see.
This project truly shows what can happen when our community comes together! We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to those who generously donated their materials, time, and labor to make this project possible:
🔔 Dan & Deb Hathaway — for donating the bell🧱 Cole & Linn Bebout, Bebout Masonry — for donating the brickwork, materials, time, and labor💡 Jason & Larry Streby, Valley Electrical — for donating the lighting, materials, time, and labor
We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and community spirit that went into creating this special addition to Freddie Stadium. This beautiful bell is not only a symbol of victory—it also represents Fredericktown pride, history, and the incredible support of our community. ❤️🩶

🍎✨ New Teacher Orientation Day! ❤️🩶

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming our newest teachers during New Hire Teacher Orientation!
After attending the New Educators Breakfast hosted by the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, the local orientation kicked off with remarks from Superintendent Gary Chapman, who reminded our new staff of one of the most important values at Fredericktown Schools: We are student focused. ❤️
Throughout the morning, our newest Freddies learned about safety drills and protocols, the Fredericktown Education Association, student services, and the day-to-day operations that help our school run smoothly. They also enjoyed an icebreaker led by Elementary Principal Hannah Taylor, helping everyone get to know one another.
The morning concluded with a building tour led by Athletic Director Tim Doup, giving our new teachers a chance to become familiar with their new home.
To top it all off, the Fredericktown Marching Band, currently hard at work during band camp, invited our new staff to a delicious cookout-themed lunch. It was the perfect way to end a great day of learning, connecting, and feeling welcomed into the Freddie family!
We’re excited for an amazing school year ahead! ❤️🩶
