Fredericktown R-I needs your support.

Fredericktown R-I has joined fellow MAAA school districts in sharing information about the potential impact of state funding decisions on our local schools.

If funding for Missouri public schools is not restored, Fredericktown R-I could face an estimated $793,000 reduction in state funding.

Our schools need our community to stay informed and engaged. Please take a few minutes to read the joint letter below to learn more about what is happening and how community members can stay involved.

"October's character word is ✨RESPONSIBILITY✨ - taking action and understanding the impact of your choices. It's the understanding that our choices have consequences and that we have the power to make a positive difference. When students embrace responsibility, they become more independent, trustworthy, and confident in their ability to handle challenges.

Responsibility isn't about perfection; it's about owning our actions, learning from mistakes, and doing what we say we'll do. Here's how you can strengthen responsibility at home:

▪️Give age-appropriate chores — Assign tasks your child can manage independently (feeding a pet, setting the table, organizing their room). Completing chores builds confidence and shows that their contributions matter.
▪️Let natural consequences happen — If your child forgets their homework, resist the urge to rescue them immediately. Let them experience the natural consequence and problem-solve together. This teaches accountability in a safe way.
▪️Celebrate effort and follow-through — Notice and praise when your child completes a task, tries hard, or admits a mistake. Positive reinforcement builds responsibility.
▪️Talk about choices and outcomes — When something goes wrong, ask, ""What happened? What could you do differently next time?"" This helps them connect their choices to results.

Together, let's raise responsible, capable young people who understand the power of their choices. "
