The FHS Marching Band is excited to welcome Mr. Ethan Smith as our new Assistant Director!

Mr. Smith was a proud member of the trombone section from 2016–19. After graduating from FHS in 2020, he attended Geneva College to study English and Education. Following his first year of teaching in Pennsylvania, Mr. Smith returned home to his Freddie family this past year to teach Middle School English—and now, he is getting right back in step with the marching band!

We are thrilled to have Mr. Smith join our marching band staff and can’t wait for our students to benefit from his experience, energy, and Freddie pride!

Sending a huge congratulations to 2025 Fredericktown Bands Alum, Sage Hess, for auditioning and being accepted into “The Most Exciting Band In The Land”—The Ohio University Marching 110! Sage joins numerous other Freddie Band alumni in recent years to participate in collegiate marching bands, many at the NCAA DI level. We’re so proud to see our musicians take their talents beyond Fredericktown!

2026 marked the 150th annual commencement of Fredericktown High School. We’re honored and privileged each year to provide live music for the prelude, opening, and closing of the ceremony. Thank you to Freddie Band alumnus John Wareham for capturing memories of the evening! Congratulations to the class of 2026, especially to all of our senior band members!
