Volunteer Fire and EMS

The only public safety service that isn't handed everything.

*Many pay for their own advanced training
*Spend hundreds (or thousands) of $$ out of pocket for fuel
*attacked by people who sit around ignoring their tax payers needs while govt officials expect those not paid to cover it.

*unions protect mediocre employees
*volunteers keep mediocre members because you can't fire them, and there are no waiting lists of people who will work harder for free than expected of employees

Cadets spend Tuesday evening braving the heat and humidity to practice search and rescue techniques. The cadets were able to take advantage of the Ohio Fire Academy’s search and rescue trailer. Great job by all. Thank you to Chief Halcomb and Monroe Township Fire Department Station 510 for allowing us to use the search and rescue trailer.

Congratulations to our 3 cadets that recently graduated the Ohio Youth Fire and Ems Training Academy. This week long training camp is located at Hocking College . The camp teaches cadets fire ground operations, teamwork and leadership . Cadet Lieutenant Rachel Light received a commendation for outstanding performance and positive attitude. We are very proud of your accomplishments. Thank you to all that made this experience possible for our cadets.
