🐣 Exciting things are happening in Mrs. Garrity’s elementary classroom at FALC!

Students are learning about the life cycle of quail through a hands-on egg-hatching project!

This week, students completed their first round of candling, examining eggs for signs of development. They’ve been making predictions, recording observations, and counting down the days until hatching!

Students are hopeful that as many as 30 quail will hatch! While that may be an optimistic prediction, it has provided a great opportunity to practice collecting data and comparing predictions with actual results.

The learning won’t stop when the quail hatch! Students plan to use the proceeds from selling the quail to purchase a larger hydroponic garden, creating even more hands-on learning opportunities.

👏 A great example of Mrs. Garrity bringing science, math, and real-world learning together in her classroom!

We can’t wait to see how many quail hatch! 🐣🌱

Fredericktown R-1 : Fredericktown R-I needs your support.

Fredericktown R-I has joined fellow MAAA school districts in sharing information about the potential impact of state funding decisions on our local schools.

If funding for Missouri public schools is not restored, Fredericktown R-I could face an estimated $793,000 reduction in state funding.

Our schools need our community to stay informed and engaged. Please take a few minutes to read the joint letter below to learn more about what is happening and how community members can stay involved.

The Fredericktown R-1 School District proudly recognizes and celebrates the retirement of Mr. Eddie Dunivan, honoring his years of dedicated service and lasting impact on our students, schools, and community.

Mr. Dunivan received his Bachelor of Science degree in education in May 1984 from Southeast Missouri State University. He received his Master of Arts degree in Secondary Administration and Supervision from SEMO in August 1998 and his Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from SEMO in August 2011. Mr. Dunivan began his career at Richland High School as a physical education and health instructor and baseball and basketball coach in 1984. From 1985 to 1993, Mr. Dunivan was the physical education and health instructor and baseball and basketball coach at Advance High School. While there, he was named Stoddard County Coach of the Year. From 1993 to 1998, Mr. Dunivan taught at Woodland High School, and from 1998 to 2006 he was Middle School Principal in the Arcadia Valley R-II School District. Mr. Dunivan joined the staff of the Fredericktown R-1 School District in August 2009 as principal of the Alternative Learning Campus and Off-Site Campus. He is retiring with 39 years dedicated to the field of education.

We sincerely thank Mr. Dunivan for his leadership, mentorship, and decades of service in education. We wish him a happy and well-earned retirement.
