Art Time for Kids Located at 101 Hanover St. in downtown Fredericksburg, we offer
Art classes for ages 2-18, and Music classes for ages 0-5!

Providing a different activity every week, Art Time For Kids provides an entertaining and educational atmosphere for children from preschool through middle school to create and grow. Paint a landscape, sculpt pottery, and explore your personal creativity in our stimulating and low pressure classes. With lessons for a wide age range (age two through eighth grade) and interactive classes perfect for

more active kids, our downtown workshop is a studio of creativity and fun. We feature a range of learning scenarios for kids to explore color and expression with parent/child classes for two to five year olds and drop-off classes for Kindergarteners through eighth graders. Armed with passion, experience, and a whole lot of paintbrushes, we’re here to help your kids unleash their inner artists.

One of the best pictures! Reasons we love it so much, listed in order:
1: A child showing genuine wonder while brushing paint on paper! 😂
2. Both adult caretakers are close and engaged in the fun! They are making memories! 🥳
3. There are just too many colors on the palette to choose!🎨

We do so much more than “just making an art project” every week in the Art from the Start classes. These parent/child classes for children ages 2-5 have been a favorite for more than twelve years! All of our classes begin September 8th, so there is still time to sign your child up at www.arttime4kids.com

Beyond her art that spanned so many decades: her paintings, sculptures, and ideas, was the human spirit she brought to her Art. “Infinity Nets” were created in a freezing cold New York City studio apartment in the insomniac hours of the night. Painted as a repetitive motion to calm her racing mind. She voluntarily lived in a mental hospital in Japan for 40+ years because it made her feel safe. Rest in Peace, Yayoi Kusama. 1929-2026. 🖤💗💜💙💛

The Japanese artist’s polka-dot covered paintings, ph***ic sculptures and public performances caused a stir in New York City and Europe in the 1960s.

So many of our wonderful teachers have been highlighted in the past few weeks. All the art and music teachers are anxiously awaiting for the Fall session to begin and spend it weekly with their students and families. But I wanted to jump on officially as teacher and owner for a quick who am I.

Meet Ms. Julia. I started as a parent and fell in love with the studio. Then I began teaching and discovered that every artist who walked through the door became my favorite. My favorites are helping each artist gain confidence and take risks in their art. I am excited to continue this school year with our amazing students and wonderful families.

Question for homeschool families: Do you have an official first day of school roll-out? Is it a “soft opening?” Or do you stay in school mode throughout the summer to avoid falling out of school habits?

Meet CLAIRE, our middle and high school teacher for the Monday homeschool group (6th-9th), and the Monday 4:30-5:30 class (6th and up.)
MS. Claire knows that those wonderful photo-faces her boys make for EVERY SINGLE VACATION PHOTO are due to their wonderful sense of humor and creative free-spirits. 👺🤗
Thinking about joining the Art Time 4 Kids classes for 6th grade and up? Come see the studio and meet the teachers Monday, August 24th, 2-6pm. Let the kids check out the space; art supplies and examples of planned projects will be out on our work tables. We know that sometimes teens (and all humans) just need to know what to expect! We’re happy to welcome everyone, so make a plan to stop in 101 Hanover St. Fredericksburg VA 22401
