Admiring Felicity's face paint? Bubbles the Clown has done face painting, balloon bending, and a magic show every year we've been there - 14 years at this point! Rooms at camp used to be free, too, but with the rising cost of everything, families must pay for those too, which makes it harder for some family ro come, even though camp is the best possible place for a cueing family to be! So much support, so many peers!

There was a study done years ago - including brain scan images - of how the brain processes ASL vs. Cued Speech. As expected, ASL activated more of the visual processing centers of the brain, but Interestingly Cued Speech activated more auditory processing centers!
Here's a similar study - while lipreading is a visual activity, the brain processes it as auditory information!

Lip-read words can be decoded from the brain's auditory regions similarly to heard speech, according to a new University of Michigan report that looked at how vision supports verbal perception.
