Little drive around central VA today checking for deals and came across a couple. Knives from a store that I've scored some good Bagley crankbaits in the past. And on the way came across a guy selling rods and reels in a parking lot so I had to pull over. Added the Crestfire to my Shimano Bantam collection. Also want to give a shout out to the Ace Hardware in Louisa VA. Great knife and gun selection. Best I've seen in all the stores I've been to lately. Check them out if you're in the area.

Knife hunt today in Southern MD. Ace Hardware stores sometimes have their knives on sale and you can get great deals. Also they sometimes have older knives at old prices. Plus I got a $5 discount for being a club member.

What do you do when you go fishing and get skunked? Stop by a pawn shop on the way home to check and see what they have for sale. It's nice when the manager tells you that he wants to blow out the rod/reel combos. Then you check out the knives and they're pretty much half off too. Mix of Daiwa, Lew's, Shimano rods and reels. Buck (discontinued 276 Alpha), US and Seki Japan Parkers, and Schrade Uncle Henry knives. All need a little cleaning but should come out nice.

Picked up these Poe's, Smithwick's, Tennessee Tuffies, and an unknown wood bait (maybe a Tony Bishop?) today plus two Rebel craws. Nice group of older baits that were found under a house in a plastic container.

Flood tide today on the Chick. Low tide this morning was normal high tide so when it started coming in, it came in. Going to be interesting to see outgoing tide in the morning. Some light rain starting now too. I was amazed to see how clean the water was today.

Friend is downsizing so I swung by and picked up some baits for the Box. He has a ton of plastics for sale (Senko, Zoom, Reaction Innovation, etc) for good prices. If interested let me know.

Got out for a little fun fishing today. Took a bunch of new baits to play with. Caught a few. Really surprised we didn't catch more in one area. Full of grass and fish jumping and nothing 🤔🤷. No bait or fry or bluegills. Nothing. Water was very warm though. I guess even the little guys leave the grass for cooler deeper water.

My friend Ron Eminson passed away yesterday. Known as King Conowingo for his knowledge of the tidal Susquehanna river below the Conowingo dam and his excellent jig making skills. He taught me about shore shopping and monkey baths. Unfortunately I never got to fish with him but he loved collecting Bomber baits. Semper Fi.

More finds. WEC, Sisson, and more. Good stuff today.
