UPLIFT IN ACTION: FROM SERVICE TO CITIZENSHIP & LEADERSHIP
On August 8, Tau Rho Chapter’s Reach One Mentorship Program put UPLIFT Through Service into action at the Rappahannock Education Farm. Our young men worked alongside their mentors harvesting tomatoes for distribution to families experiencing food insecurity and learned an important lesson:
“What you plant today determines what you can harvest tomorrow.”
Now, we continue planting those seeds.
📅 Saturday, August 22, 2026
⏰ 10:00 AM
📍 Germanna Community College – ISP1, Room 213
10000 Germanna Point Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408
Our next lesson, UPLIFT Through Citizenship & Leadership, asks our young men to consider:
YOUR VOICE. YOUR COMMUNITY. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
“You Don’t Have to Be Old Enough to Vote to Make a Difference.”
Joining us will be three special guests bringing perspectives on citizenship, government, elections, public service, leadership, and community responsibility:
🎤 Pastor/Bro. Baron Braswell — “Your Voice Before Your Vote”
🎤 Virginia State Delegate Joshua G. Cole — Public Service & Government
🎤 Kate McDaid, Deputy Registrar II–Community Engagement, Fredericksburg Office of Voter Registration & Elections — Civic & Elections Education
This will be a nonpartisan educational experience designed to teach our young men how to become informed, think critically, respectfully engage with different perspectives, understand their government, and recognize that leadership does not begin when they turn 18—it begins now.
Parents, guardians, and community members: Know a young man who could benefit from positive mentorship? We invite you to introduce him to Reach One.
Building Bridges. Developing Leaders. Changing Lives.
Lifting As We Climb.
