EESC Students Win Big At CPRC SETAC
Three EESC students and their research mentor Dr. Tyler Frankel (Assoc. Professor- EESC) attended the CPRC SETAC Annual Spring Conference held on April 9th at Towson University. Hannah Reents (EESC ’26) was awarded 1st place in the poster compettion for her presentation titled “Initiation of a long-term study to track f***l coliform contamination in the Rappahannock River and share results with scientific community”. Garrett Driscoll (EESC ’28) received 2nd place in the poster competition for his presentation entitled “Assessing the effects of lead and cadmium contaminated sediments on viability and locomotor behavior in the amphipod Hyallela azteca“. Joey Gasink (EESC ’26) won 3rd place in the platform competiton for his talk titled “Evaluating embryonic development, locomotor behavior, and bioaccumulation in cadmium exposed Planorbella duryi snails under SSP-RCP warming scenarios”. Both poster and platform competitions included undergraduate, Masters, and Ph.D. candidates. Congratulations to our students!

kicks off tomorrow at noon! This is our largest fundraising day to support Earth and Environmental Science students to travel abroad with faculty for the EESC 360 Environmental Exploration courses. This year students head off to South Africa with Dr. Szulczewski and next back to Bonaire with Dr. Grothe. Please help support our students on these meaningful learning experiences by donating to our department during , supporting the EESC 360 scholarship.
