Gratefully Wearing Bairn

Pop Up Play date at the Park! Thursday 3/26 from 11 to 1 at Patriot Park (not the one next to the Y). I’ll have my 10 and 4 year old to play and a selection of carriers, slings, and wraps to play with too. Try something of mine, or bring something of yours. Come with questions or just for community. Stop by anytime for a few minutes or stay the whole time. All caregivers welcome in all stages of pregnancy and beyond. Hope you can join us, I’ll have more play dates throughout the nice weather season.

Had a last second planned pop up play date at loriella park this afternoon. Planning to have at least one a month while it’s nice out. Hope to see you at the next one!

MWH is hosting a FREE community baby shower at the convention center this Saturday. Come grab a goodie bag, enter the raffle, and meet local community businesses and resources available to family during this special time. New or due, first or last, all mamas and their families are welcome (including grandparents!) to join us from 11-2. I’ll have carriers with me like always. Looking forward to meeting new faces and sharing my love of babywearing.

I don’t think I will ever have the words to honor my dad the way he deserves to be remembered. He was a wonderful father, the best papa and loving husband in his own way. Grateful for the stories and memories although I had so many more I wanted to ask about. So glad we got together fo celebrate Sara one last time (although I wish we had made it Saturday). It’s not fair, just less than a year and a half later, just before Father’s Day, just before my mother’s birthday I had to go to the room next to where we were saying goodbye to my mom so that I could say goodbye to my dad and I didn’t even make it before he passed it was so quick

We are so very capable of so much, it’s amazing what we can do. Babywearing has been an essential tool for me to be able to function, feel normal, and sometimes be supermom.

Where did babywearing take you this week?

We’ve had our usual errands to run plus enjoying the beautiful fall weather with nature walks and soccer practice. Carlton loves to walk/run and explore but sometimes for safety it’s easier to carry him than use a leash. His naps are still all over the place but now he’ll transfer during a nap easily, grateful I have carriers to hold him while out. Even at home, it was a rainy day and he didn’t nap but was getting tired too early for bed so up into a sling he went while we sang a few fun songs together, instant calm that lasted till he was ready for bed. Big sister also had some big feelings so I practiced my back wrapping skills. I struggled tightening enough with a new to me carry so the next day I tried again with my doll who is much less squirmy😬

Come join me and my three kids for a nature walk at Mott’s Run Reservoir tomorrow!
We will be at the picnic tables by the water around 130 to start walking at 2. Will walk to either the laurel or lake view trail depending on how everyone is feeling. My kids are 15, 8, and 2.5 so all ages welcome! I will bring some extra carriers for anyone who would like to borrow one for littles/toddlers, I can also help with fit checks/getting mom/babe more comfortable with what you have. Not sure how stroller friendly the trail is, it’s been a bit since we’ve walked this.
