I am the Education Director for Friends of the Rappahannock in Fredericksburg. We host 8 weeks of summer camp in Fredericksburg that sell out within TWO days in February.
This year we opened three more weeks at Crow's Nest Research Center on Marlborough Point!

This camp will feature kayaking on Accokeek Creek plus environmental, historic, and cultural aspects of this beautiful location in Stafford. Fridays we meet at Friends of the Rappahannock where we kayak, tube, and paddleboard in the FXBG Quarry all morning and enjoy firemaking, Smores, and camp games in the afternoon.
The weeks begin July 8, July 15, and July 22. Monday - Friday 9 am to 3 pm.
We have a fabulous lead who is a veteran Stafford science teacher (At Drew MS) and FXBG Governor's school teacher specializing in Wetlands. Our assistant is a local young man that graduated from Brooke Point in 2019 and is currently serving his two weeks of National Guard Training and will finish up at JMU in December! Plus, me!
We are river safety conscious, environmentally-minded, and a huge amount of fun!
