Christa's Little Learning House

We have started our summer learning! This month is all about animals! I love going to our local library to gather books for our learning time. This is just my library haul. We will also be reading some books that are already on our shelf.

Happy Memorial Day! What a privilege it is to honor and remember those who sacrificed all four freedom and security.

We took our lessons outside this morning and enjoyed the beautiful weather while learning about the letter U. The little guy on the left did a great impression or this week’s alphabet animal. Can you guess what it is?

I have had such wonderful families over the years. Right now is no exception. After a weekend of illness and having to close for a sick day, one of my families arrived for school today with Chick-fil-A breakfast for everyone.

Every family I have worked with has been prayed for before they ever found me and prayed over since they have been enrolled. I am so thankful for the amazing families that I have been able to work with over the years.

Scissors skills are always something that the kids enjoy practicing. Fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and bilateral coordination are all strengthened during this activity. They also develop their hand strength and finger dexterity along with their focus and attention.

When you are attempting to get multiple little people to sit still, look at the camera, and smile, all at the same time, you inevitably get some silly moments caught in between. Life with littles is always about growth, never perfection. In our school we strive to grow and learn and have fun doing it.

Everyone really enjoyed mixing their blue and yellow paint to make green. We talked about the rainbow and observed the varying shades of green as they mixed the colors together.

Multisensory activities help the brain to better recall and understand new concepts. With our project today we involved our visual, tactile, and auditory senses.
