Today, I want to share why I got started. Because when I look back, QA Queens didn't come from me trying to build a program.
It really came from me stepping into a new season of my life, which was becoming a momIt changed everything for me, and if you're a mom, I'm sure you can relate; having children really does change something in you.
Once I had my son, I started looking at my days, time, and even my energy differently. And one thing that kept coming up for me was…I still want to work… but I also want to be here. And not in a halfway working, halfway momming, feeling stretched all the time kind of way. And it worked out (thankfully).
And then I started noticing I wasn't the only one. So many women, especially moms, were saying the same things:
I need something flexible.”
“I want to be home with my kids.”
“I still need to make money.” And it felt like everybody was trying to figure out how to make that make sense.
For me, software testing had already been that answer. I've been in this field for years, and I've always had roles that paid well and gave me flexibility… but it didn't really hit me how valuable that was until I became a mom.
Like wow… I can actually build a career and still be present in my home.
And once that clicked for me, I couldn't unsee it. I kept thinking…Why don't more women know about this? Why are we out here struggling to find something that works for our lives when there are careers that already exist?
That's really where QA Queens started.I wanted to create something that showed women that this is an option. And it didn't have to be something complicated or out of reach. But instead, something you can learn, step into, and actually build from.
Inside the mentorship, I'm teaching you how to understand software testing, how to think through it, and how to move with confidence as you step into this space.
And more than anything, I want you to have choices:
The choice to work from home.
The choice to earn well.
The choice to be present in your life while still building something for yourself.
If you've been in a space where you're trying to figure out your next step, or you've been wanting something different… this field might be something you should pursue.
My next QA Queens cohort starts on April 28th, and I'd love to have you inside. If you've been thinking about it, take this as your sign to do it for not only you but also for your family too!

Today we officially kick off the next cohort of QA Queens ✨
I’m so proud of the women who said yes to themselves, their careers, and their future.
And if you’re reading this thinking, “Dang… I meant to sign up” — this is your sign.
👉🏽 There is still time to join.
Let me say this clearly, especially for the women in the back:
Software Testing is one of the most underrated, strategic, and sustainable paths into tech.
1. Remote-friendly + flexible
QA roles are some of the most remote-accessible jobs in tech.
That means:
No daily commute
More time with your family
Location freedom
Work that fits real life, not the other way around.
2. Low barrier to entry, high leverage skillset
You don’t need to be a coder to get started.
QA teaches you how systems work, how to think critically, and how to become invaluable to product teams fast.
This isn’t a bootcamp.
This is mentorship.
Real guidance, real strategy, real support.

You’ve thought about tech before.
Maybe more than once.
But then that voice shows up like:
“I don’t have a tech background.”
“That feels risky.”
“I don’t have time to start over.”
And yet… it’s 2026.
And moms and women are quietly stepping into software testing roles every day.
Here’s what they figured out:
QA is realistic.
No CS degree required.
No years of coding.
Just process, curiosity, and growth.
Motherhood already trained you.
Attention to detail.
Problem spotting.
Clear communication.
That’s Software QA/Testing
Software Testing actually fits family life.
Remote. Structured. Sustainable.
And no, Software QA isn’t a dead end.
It’s a gateway.
If you’ve been wondering whether tech could work for your life…
You’re not late. You’re right on time.

Hi Im Tek, Happy Tek Tuesday!
I share content surrounding moms and women who are looking to transition into the tech field!
I am sitting here reminiscing on my son and I's Autumn photoshoot last year. He He's grown soooo much since then, and now walks and talks, and bosses my husband and I around. 😅
He was the motivation for me starting my QA Queens Mentorship Program. As a new mom, I've noticed many women in my "moms" groups seeking a more fulfilling, flexible, and well-paying career to earn a living while caring for their kids.
The end of the year is a great time for self reflection. If something in you, is craving more for yourself or your family, great! It’s a signal that you’re ready for more. You deserve a career that supports you, not drains you.
