What an incredible two days in San Antonio! 🍷🤠

Thank you to everyone who visited the Uncork Texas Wines pavilion during the Texas Restaurant Show and joined Uncork Texas Wine for the Texas Wine Trade Evening!

Throughout the event, Texas Wine Growers had the opportunity to connect with restaurant owners, chefs, beverage directors, retailers, and hospitality professionals from across the state to share what makes Real. Texas. Wine. so unique.

The conversations continued Monday evening as industry professionals gathered to taste wines from across Texas, enjoy thoughtfully paired bites + paella, connect directly with winery owners and winemakers, and explore how 100% Texas-grown wines can elevate beverage programs and guest experiences.

Events like these are about more than pouring wine. They're about building relationships, sharing knowledge, and creating new advocates for Texas wine within the hospitality industry.

A heartfelt thank you to Uncork Texas Wines, ReRooted 210, toohotfortabc for the paella, all of the participating wineries, and everyone who helped make this event such a success. We can't wait to continue growing the presence of Texas wine in restaurants and hospitality across the state.

See y'all at the next one! 🍇

What makes a meal unforgettable? 🍷🍽️

In our latest TWG blog, Daric Easton, owner of Grape Juice Kerrville, shares why serving Texas wine is about so much more than what's in the glass.

For Daric, every bottle tells the story of the people, farms, vineyards, and communities behind it. Pairing 100% Texas-grown wine with locally sourced Texas food creates an experience that simply can't be replicated anywhere else.

As Daric puts it, wine isn't just about scores, medals, or tasting notes. It's about people. It's about relationships. And it's about creating a true sense of place.

Whether you're a restaurant owner, beverage director, or someone who simply loves discovering great Texas wine, this is a perspective worth reading.

Introducing the proposed Dell Valley AVA, tucked between the salt flats and the mountains in West Texas. This desert valley may get just 8–10 inches of rain a year, but thanks to the Bone Spring–Victorio aquifer, it supports nearly 50,000 acres of irrigated farmland. With elevations from 3,640 to 4,200 feet and sandy loam soils, it’s a rugged, resource-rich place that just might shape the next frontier of Texas wine.

📍 Hudspeth County | Chihuahuan Desert
🍇 Soil: Alluvial sandy loam
💧 Irrigated by Bone Spring–Victorio Aquifer
📈 Elevation: 3,640–4,200 ft

American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) are approved by the Federal Alcohol and To***co Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). This process includes a period of public comment when opened by the TTB.

The proposed Dell Valley AVA was deemed perfected on August 13, 2024, initiating the federal rulemaking process.

Advocate Spotlight 🍷🤠

This month we're highlighting Texas Wine Advocate Tricia Treude Streitmann, whose passion for Texas wine is rooted in her love for the Lone Star State.

Through the Texas Wine Advocate Program, she has expanded her knowledge of Texas wine, built lasting friendships, and helped share the story of 100% Texas-grown wine with others.

When asked to pick a favorite Texas wine, she couldn't choose just one. From crisp Picpoul Blanc to bold Teroldego and everything in between, Tricia appreciates the incredible diversity found across Texas wine country.

June brought a huge accomplishment for Texas wine 🍷🏅

Texas wines have earned their first-ever Gold medals at the Decanter World Wine Awards, the largest and most influential wine competition in the world.

This year, Texas delivered its strongest Decanter performance ever:
🏅 4 Gold Medals
🍷 62 wines scored 90+ points
📈 More than half of all Texas wines entered earned 90 points or higher
🌎 Texas ranked second only to California among American wine regions for wines scoring 90+ points

These results are proof of the quality, consistency, and growing international recognition of Texas wine.

Texas Wine Growers is especially proud to celebrate our members whose wines earned Gold and Silver medals:

🏅 Gold Medal
Ab Astris | 2022 Souzao | 96 points

🥈 Silver Medal Winners
Ab Astris
Kerrville Hills Winery
La Valentía
Lost Draw
Portree Cellars
Rebecca Caroline
Reddy Wines
Sandy Road Vineyards
Slate Theory
Torr Na Lochs
Uplift Vineyard
William Chris Vineyards

As Decanter Regional Chair James Tidwell MS noted, "Texas exceeded expectations." The competition highlighted the strength of Texas wine, particularly wines made from Iberian, Italian, and Mediterranean varieties.

Congratulations to all of the Texas wineries whose hard work, innovation, and commitment to quality continue to elevate Texas wine on the world stage. 🤠🍇

Wildflowers, cover crops, and the promise of a new vintage 🌼🍇

In our latest TWG blog, Judith and Harley Tigner of Two Tales Vineyard take us into the vineyard rows during one of the most beautiful times of the growing season.

Thanks to a cooler, wetter spring, wildflowers and cover crops are thriving across the vineyard. But beyond their beauty, these plants play an important role in supporting soil health, preventing erosion, attracting beneficial insects, and helping build a stronger vineyard for years to come.

The blog also offers a behind-the-scenes look at the work happening now, from under-vine cleanup and irrigation preparation to the tiny grape berries beginning their journey toward harvest.

It's a reminder that great Texas wine starts long before grapes reach the winery. It begins with careful stewardship of the land and the daily work of vineyard teams across the state.
