Today we are celebrating two incredible students who remind us exactly why we love what we do. Join us in giving a massive shout-out to Je'Cor and Ithan for earning well-deserved positive referrals!

Je'Cor (Recognized by Mrs. Braswell):
Je'Cor is a true spark in the classroom! He constantly goes above and beyond, fully engaging with his peers and always volunteering a helping hand to anyone who needs it. Mrs. Braswell says it is an absolute pleasure to have him in class every day. Keep shining, Je'Cor!

Ithan (Recognized by Ms. Wolfrey):
Though Ithan was working with Ms. Wolfrey during attendance recovery, his incredible presence stood out immediately. Ithan is uplifting, bright, and consistently positive. Not only did he stay ahead on all his assignments, but he also took the initiative to help his peers and teachers without being asked! What makes Ithan truly special is his drive—he doesn't compare himself to others; he just strives to be the best version of himself. That leadership carries over to the track team and beyond. As Ms. Wolfrey put it: "He is the kind of student who reminds you why this work matters."

We are so proud of both of these amazing young men. The future is incredibly bright for you both!

We had a wonderful End-of-Year Celebration yesterday filled with a delicious burger bar, cake, and time together as we celebrated our incredible retirees, Mrs. Parks and Mrs. Gagnon. Their dedication and impact on Freedom Middle School will be felt for years to come. Days like yesterday are a reminder that FMS truly is the best place to be — a school built on community, laughter, support, and amazing people

Our 6th grade English classes have been going above and beyond this past week to create their own “apps” and commercials. They had to identify a problem and the app offered a solution to that problem. After that, they created a poster showcasing every aspect from cost to description to even writing reviews of their product. Once their poster was complete, they then filmed their commercial and edited it. Some even went above and beyond, creating mock versions of their apps using Canva.

Students in History class this week were very busy learning about the Cold War conflicts. As a fun way to review, students got to create and play their own board games. We even had one of our own students share with us about his family history about living in Vietnam. It was a very exciting and engaging week!

If you look up "above and beyond" in the dictionary, you’ll probably see a picture of Madie. She is the ultimate classroom helper and an absolute joy to have in class!

From always doing her best work to helping set up for SOL testing, Madie is a total rockstar. But it’s her empathy that truly shines. When a broken pencil sharpener was causing some serious classroom frustration, Madie stepped right in without even being asked to save the day and fix it.

On top of being recognized by Mrs. White for her amazing attitude with a Positive Referral, Madie recently went next-level for Teacher Appreciation by wearing a shirt featuring her teachers' faces!

We love you, Madie! Thank you for making our school a brighter, kinder place.

Way to go, Mr. Recore!

Our very own Coach Recore has been named All District Coach of the Year. 👏🏆

If you’ve ever had a child coached by him, known him as a coach, or simply watched him lead a team, none of this is a surprise.
We are so glad to see Coach Recore getting his flowers while he’s here because he truly deserves them. His knowledge of the game, his coaching ability, and the way he pushes players to reach the next level is something special to watch. He sees potential in kids, understands how to develop it, and knows how to bring out the best in them both on and off the field.
He is widely respected by everyone around him, parents, players, fellow coaches, colleagues, former players, and the entire community. That kind of respect is earned, and it speaks volumes about the man he is.
He has done a fantastic job not just building a successful team, but shaping young men through character, discipline, accountability, respect, and leadership. Most importantly, he teaches all of it by example.

Congratulations, Coach Recore. Very well deserved.
