Each year our 4️⃣th grade Hornets 🐝 participate in Watermelon Day 🍉! They eat watermelon 🍉, have a watermelon 🍉 seed spitting contest, do a Watermelon 🍉 anagram challenge and make watermelon 🍉 hat 🧢!

Our 3️⃣rd grade Hornets 🐝 had to get in on the Water 💦 Day fun too! While the rain ☔️ tried to deter them, their Hornet 🐝 fun prevailed! Whether is was with a sponge 🧽 or a bucket 🪣 or a water ball 🧶, our 3️⃣rd graders sure knew how to enjoy the day!

Did your ☝️st or ✋th grade Hornet 🐝 come home 🏡 on the last day 📅 with more jewelry? We loved seeing the buddies 👯‍♀️ get together one last time and make friendship bracelets ⭐️⚪️🔵🟡⚪️⭐️!

Here’s to the class of 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ 🎓!

Whether they’re Wildcats 🐾, Eagles 🦅, Indians 🪶, or call another school home, they all were Hornets 🐝 years ago. We were so excited to celebrate 🎉 our graduating 🎓 seniors as they move on to their next chapter 📖, but always remember: Once a Hornet 🐝, Always a Hornet 🐝!

What a time we’ve been having with our third grade Hornets 🐝! They’ve made dirt pudding 🪱, camped indoors ⛺️, played kickball 🪩, glowed the day away 🌟 and had a virtual artist visit 🧘‍♂️. Only 3️⃣ more school 🏫 days until these Hornets 🐝 are officially 4️⃣th graders!

Our Kindergarten Hornets 🐝 had an unforgettable Spirit Week! 🏕️🌺🧸✨ From camping ⛺️ adventures and luau 🌺 fun to teddy bear 🧸 picnics and an exciting Glow 💡Day, each day 📅 was filled with smiles 🙂, laughter 🤭 , and school spirit 💙💛🤍🐝.

What a day for our oldest Hornets 🐝! After their promotion ceremony 🎓 (we’re not crying, you’re crying 😭😢!) our amazing 🖐️th grade teachers and volunteers ran our Hornets 🐝 through a few hours of games and capped it off with a pizza 🍕 party!

We are so proud of all they’ve accomplished over their time 🗓️ at Hartwood and can’t wait to see what their futures hold!

And just like that our last field trip of the year is over! 🚌 Today our ✋th went to Pratt Park for DARE Day! Each year all of the 🖐️th graders in Stafford County Schools attend this event! Our Hornets 🐝 were able to be hands 🙌 on as they got in the bounce house, explored the helicopter 🚁 , saw Office of Stafford County Sheriff - David "DP" Decatur, Sheriff, Sheriff police dogs 🐕 , Stafford County Fire and Rescue fire trucks 🚒 , EMTs 🚑, played some games from Ferry Farm and so much more!

We look forward to this event 🎉 every year and are thankful for our community partners who put this on! Special shout out to our awesome bus drivers 🚌 and transportation department for getting us there and back safely and in a timely 🕜 manner.
