Our Hornets have settled beautifully into their new classrooms, and school routines are officially in full swing! Now that the back-to-school rush has calmed down and the dust has settled, we want to share a quick, friendly reminder.

☕️✨ SAVE THE DATE: Sip & Spirit Fundraiser! ✨☕️

Kick off your weekend with great coffee for a great cause! Join us for our very first Spirit Night…I mean Morning!... of the school year on Saturday, September 12th from 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Lidl parking lot on Rt 17.

We are teaming up with Brewberry Lane Coffee and Tea (owned by one of our very own HES families! 🐝💛), and they are generously donating 15% of all proceeds to the Hartwood Elementary PTA.

🙌 DOUBLE THE IMPACT: A huge shoutout to Hartwood Plumbing (also owned by one of our very own HES families 🐝💛), who will be matching all donations made during the event! We love seeing our local community and businesses come together to support our Hornets.

Picture Day is just around the corner, and we are looking for a few helping hands to make sure our Hornets look camera-ready!

We are also looking for two people to volunteer for Makeup Picture Day on October 15th. Usually the photographers finish by lunch.

When you support the Hartwood Fun Run, you aren't just making a donation, you are directly enriching your child's school year. Here is how every dollar works for our school:
🚌 $20 Field Trip Credit Per Student: The PTA directly covers $20 for every single child at Hartwood to lower the cost of grade-level field trips for families.

We are happy to announce our first After School Activity for the year: Fishing Club!

To make After School Activity signup more fair, we have changed when the portal opens. All After School Activity signups will open at 6 pm on the day flyers are sent home. This way parents/guardians have time to discuss the activity with their student(s), discuss it with each other, and consult their calendar. Please be aware of this before attempting to use the QR code.

The first After School Activity is Fishing Club for grades 3rd-5th. It will take place on the following dates:
Monday 8/31
Wednesday 9/2
Thursday 9/3
Tuesday 9/8
Wednesday 9/9
Thursday 9/10

Please remember that students must be picked up outside the gym by 4:30 pm. Below is a copy of the flyer that was sent home in Tuesday folders today.

We are so excited to kick off our biggest and most impactful fundraiser of the year! On Friday, September 25th, our Hornets will take to the trail to run, laugh, and celebrate our school community.

🎯 OUR GOAL: $18,400

Every single dollar raised goes right back to supporting our students and teachers! This year, Fun Run donations directly fund:

📸✨ Can you spare a morning or afternoon to help out on Picture Day?

Picture Day is one of our favorite traditions, but keeping those collar flips straight and line movement smooth takes a village! We are looking for parent volunteers to help our Hornets look their best for the camera.

🗓️ PICTURE DAY DATES:
📍 Fall Picture Day: Thursday, September 3rd
📍 Make-Up Picture Day: Thursday, October 15th (Usually wraps up by lunch!)
📍 Spring Picture Day: Wednesday, March 18th

⏰ Super Flexible Shifts! You don't need to stay all day! We welcome volunteers for:
☀️ Morning Shift
🌤️ Afternoon Shift
🕒 Full Day

Giving even 2–3 hours of your time makes a massive difference for our staff and students.
